Same thing with this statement of Udinese's president, it wont happen AT ALL, 0% we will give them Marchisio or Giovinco, but ofcourse for you its an easy material to nag about. Why dont we buy a player of Dago's quality, but at RB? That would be huge upgrade to our current material, who is either decent or promising!

There's no way Poulsen will be ahead of him in the pecking order and Camo probably won't be either.

I think, you are wrong because of that:

For me, Camo is the perfect player to play CM on the right side (I think he played that role under Lippi?) in a 3-CM/DMs formation. He has it all to be a good CM and can provide the width as well. You can't repy solely on fullbacks to play on the band.

Ciro knows him and trust him, he is a NT starter and at his day, by far the best midfielder we have. If/when he is fit, we hill be a starter!!
Sissoko in the middle and a fair contest between Poulsen and Marchisio for the left side. If D'ago joins as the new messiah, he will send them both to the bench and they will fight with CZ and Tiago/Almiron for the a substitution place!

Unless we get a replacement LB!

You are assuming here! Just because you wish we might do that and it doent mean that Secco is able to do that, or even if he is willing to do that!

Cronios, the board might make transfer decisions, but it's the coach who makes the team and decides who plays and who won't play.
If Ferrara plays D'Agostino in front of Marchisio then he'll probably have a reason to do it.
But i don't think it will be the case. If we do buy D'Agostino i can see a Sissoko-D'Agostino-Marchisio trio in midfield, with Diego in front of them. Mauro is 33 but his age doesn't matter as much as his injuries (he missed at least 50% of last two seasons) and his drop of form do. I can easily see Camoranesi losing his place in the team to a CM because from the transfers we're making it looks pretty obvious that we won't play 4-4-2 with wingers.

Once you asked (actually, you asked more than once) what can D'Agostino offer more than Marchisio and Poulsen.
It's like asking what can Pirlo offer more than Gattuso and Ambrosini.
I'm not talking quality wise but i'm talking about the characteristics of the players. D'Ago is nothing similar to Poulsen and Marchisio.

Also, there has been lots of talks about the new formation. Some say 4-2-3-1 some say 4-3-2-1, but i can see Ferrara playing 4-3-1-2, with 3 excellent tacklers in midfield (one of them a playmaker the other two destroyers) and with Diego behind two strikers. With so much quality in the attacking department i can't see us playing with one striker and with no interest in buying wingers i can't see us playing 4-4-2.

That's what Juve did. Now they're letting the word out on an interest about another mid so Udinese lower their demands. If not then we'll go for somebody else. Juve management didn't look happy after the meeting.

Ciro will be forced to use, both because of the sacrifices we made to get him and because that he is at optimal age and condition.
Even if he is marginally better, he will be chosen and that would be the best tactical choice.

BUT, it doesnt matter it is a logical strategical choice! Our board has shown that they lack vision and they have similarly wasted great amounts of cash that could have been used much more wisely!

This is what i am arguing and the only reason i am against this transfer, considering the current facts and future prospects!

I dont think that Marchisio is a DM like Gattuso, i believe that he is more like a Lampard type of player, a true CM, not DM, neither AMF.
I believe that as his teamwork will improve, his passing and overall offensive efficiency and utility will also improve!
But if he is permanently because of Dago, or Poulsen, he wont have the necessary time to evolve into such a player, at least not as fast as he would, if he was a part of our team, for all those year.
On the bench, he will reach at Dago's level near Dago's age, but a starter, i believe he can reach there in a couple of years!

Now on the event, Dago be proved a flop and Marchisio a starter,
thats even worse, because we would have wasted all those resources for one more subber.

One of the reasons i insisted we cant play a 4-2-3-1, is because we lack the numbers of hardcore DMs like Sissoko and specialized AMFs.
Dago adds nothing to it!!
He is not pacey and offensive enough to be one of the 3 AMFs (unlike Diego, Giovinvo and Camo)
and not solid enough to play as a DM, with dedicated defensive duties alone (like Sissoko)

So , i was expecting a 4-3-1-2, for the reasons i stated, before Ferrara confirmed them!
And in this formation, Dago can only play one the lateral roles beside Sissoko!
For this formation to survive the rapping from the flanks, we either need some kick @ss fullbacks, or a winger able to play as CM too, someone like Camo, who can also defend better than Giovinco, when needed.

There fore i believe that the rCM will be Camo and i was hoping that Marchisio will get the other one, but if Dago joins, Marchisio will be benched!

To conclude, i think that the worst possible moment to buy Dago, because he is very overhyped now and he will be overpriced too!
And we must not do that in the expend of our defensive enhancements and Marchisio's future! These are the only reasons, that put me against this transfer!

If we manage to subdue them them, then i will also welcome Dago too.
Just like i said last year when we were adding the useful squad player Poulsen.
He is not top quality material and he will never be WC either!
We should trust Marchisio and only buy him, if we sell Tiago or Poulsen first.

We should better use that sum for defensive replacements!

The mercato hasn't even officially started yet has it? And we have already signed 2 good players and almost a third. Wait until the end of summer and then complain about not signing fullbacks if one hasn't been signed yet. Dang, we still have 2 and a half months. The board has moved much quicker this year plus we have a new coach that KNOWS how to defend and surely he would like a replacement there. I am sure we will get someone in that department and if we don't sign a new RB this year our season will not be a failure so don't write off your club before the season even begins just because the mercato did not go YOUR way.

I will say it again and its probably the 4th time I have had to type this. We need someone in midfield that looks to receive the ball and is able to distribute it well enough to keep the flow of play going smoothly. We all know Sissoko can't pass, Marchisio will develope into something similar to that but what D'ago will bring those two can not. Camo is only an attacking mid and Diego/Gio drive our attack. We need someone that sits back, collects the ball from the defense and continues the run of play through the midfield (effectively taking pressure off our defense). Too many times last year and if you have noticed this then you need to watch some games again but how many times did our defense just clear the ball up field bypassing the midfield? D'ago will act as both a release valve for our defense and also someone that can finally connect all areas of the team into one cohesive unit. In otherwords we will have a midfield that actually operates in both attack and defense. We need someone that can put the ball (long or short) exactly where it's needed. Simple as that.
