Could anyone enlighten me as to how D'Agostino's stats from this last season compare to Almiron's stats in the season before we signed him?
They may be similar, but again, you can't just go on Stats.

And we also can't just go around buying players that have proven themselves at top clubs already.

I know what you're trying to do, Red.

I think he would start over Marchisio, not Camo.

I just hope spending 15 mil on D'Agostino doesn't take away from buying a quality rb.
Yap me too but Sissoko`s reds or lots of yellows+Camo`s injuries should give Marchisio lots of room

:D

D'Ago is good, and I would buy him for the right price.

I have my concerns about him, though.

yes bench him and Gio or better send them on loan..
Y bench Camo when he is fit?
Y bench Momo when they play different roles in midfield?

Y spend a significant amount for a bench player, especially when other areas need strengthening?

Marchisio is the logical choice. 3 competitions, plus squad rotation, plus injuries and suspensions = plenty of playing time for Marchisio.

Tiago will surely be sold if D'Agostino arrives.

diamond it...and speaking of D'Ago, I remember how their MF absolutely smashed us to pieces when we played them at the Friuli, and Gaetano was sublime in that game...but still I have my doubts...let's see what we have to give up to get him
nobody diamonds 4-4-2 these days, maybe palermo, but that's just on the paper. If Simplicio can play pure AM so can I..... :mark:

I like straight 4-4-2 with Diego replacing Nedved in that left side role, people will say he can't,I say he can cuz I've seen him doing miracles over there, and in live. Marchisio and D'Ago can cover the CM playmaking alongside with Sissoko/Poulsen/Zanetti and Camo playing his usual cuz I can't see him as straight midfielder.

Similar my ass
Almiron 28 games 6 goals 1 assists
D`Agostino 36 games 11 goals 8 assists 2009

This is certainly not similar Almiron scored some but only gave one assist while D`Agostino did it all goals assists and also managed to give lots of accurate passes

I know he is a good player but he is played behind the strikers at Udinese? Or further back. I am just wondering if he has the defensive abilities to start in our CM with Momo and Marchisio in a 3 man mid?

marchisio HAS to start next season, he has earned that spot... How is is dAgostino?

Buying another Midfielder doesn't mean Marchisio will not start at all. No one can be fully fit for the whole season, we cannot always rely on Marchisio, Momo, Camo.

And Marchisio's value is he can adapt to different tactics and he can allow us to have more variety in our midfield. We are not working with Ranieri anymore and we can change our tactics. :mark:

we can play Marchisio + D'Ago if we wanna keep a better posession
or Marchisio + Momo if we need to cut more passes.

D'Agostino is a good purchase as long as we reserve the budget for a RB.
