It hardly helps Pozzo's position when D'agostino is making statements, on a near daily basis, regarding how much he wants to join us. It would not be the end of the world if we didn't sign him, and i am sure that Ciro will veto any suggestion of allowing Giovinco or Marchisio to go. marchisio alone is worth more, to any club, than D'agostino...he is one of those rare central midfielders who can pass, tackle, shoot and run.

if they don't want lanzafame, paolucci or at best, De Ceglie co ownership, then forget him...I don't like the idea of De Ceglie leaving, if it could end up similar to the Criscito situation. It appears I was wrong to assume that if we wanted Criscito, then we get him. because the first option, goes to Genoa. but what about Criscito himself, what he wants?
Champions league football, challenging for the coppa italia and Serie A titles...or Genoa?

De ceglie has potential, no doubt about it. I would prefer to see him stay and become an understudy to an experienced left back, Grosso would be fine. At least a year or two more from him at the top level...And we would have three of the starting back four for italy.

18 million EUROs plus the ownership of Lanza and Paolucci, is way too much, for d'agostino.

if he was that special, the other top teams would be sniffing around him...

I think I would be ok with giving them De Ceglie on a co-ownership in exchange. De Ceglie won't be playing that much with Criscito in the team, so it makes sense to let him get some experience at Udinese. Between Giovinco, Marchisio and De Ceglie...PDC will probably play the least next season if he stayed. And we can always buy him back again in the future. I would rather give Udinese Molinaro and Tiago in exchange...but they probably wouldn't go for that.

I do not think Molinaro will be a bad deal for Udinese. The guy is still gd enough for a mid-table team.

On the other hand, Tiago is too expensive to maintain for Udinese.

The difference being that Almiron was never that good to begin with.
Isn't that what everyone says though? I remember when we got Max Vieri, he was described as similar to Bobo but with a better technique. Yeah, really went on to great things Max.

Most signings are overhyped because people really want to believe that we got someone important. Then if they flop "he wasn't that good anyway". Not surprisingly D'Ago is "better than Almiron ever was". Perhaps. But that don't mean he will play any better.

Pozzo: D'Ago will play for Juve

Udinese owner Giampaolo Pozzo has revealed he has yet to reach an agreement with Juventus for Gaetano D'Agostino but insists the player will move to Turin.

Udinese representatives met their Juventus counterparts yesterday to iron out a deal for the talented goalscoring midfielder, who is currently on international duty.

However, the two parties apparently came to an impasse when discussing the player's value, delaying the transfer indefinitely.

“We are satisfied with the player, but there is no agreement on the money,” Pozzo said. “D'Agostino will play for Juve, though.”

According to Tuttosport, Juventus' offer is £7m short of Udinese's asking price.

The Bianconeri are said to be thinking about making a new offer, which would include Michele Paolucci and 50 per cent of Paolo De Ceglie plus £5m in cash.

The biggest difference is that D'Agostino is more highly rated than Almiron ever was, he plays for a bigger team and seems to have a much stronger personality than the shy Sergio.
