According swedish media, Moammar Gaddafi's son Saadi will leave
his membership of the juve board...

What about the shares they own, will they sell them???
I know buisness is buisness these days, butI wouldn't mind
JUVE not having any connection to the Gaddafi's....

Surely juve can find more respected investors in this world!

Personally, I'll be glad...

I hate this whole bs with the Tamoil logo in the CL, how silly this business of football has become...

I dont think there was ANY racial epitomes in his statement . There is an uneasy feeling in the USA towards the Gheddafi family. It has NOTHING to do with race, so lets not start a racial war here.

This has NOTHING to do with Libya or Libyans in general. This has EVERYTHING to do with the Gaddafi family.

Please try and separate the two.

It's like saying because I hate Hitler, I hate all Germans.

Come on, now.

He shouldn't own part of Juve because he's a Gaddafi, not because he's Libyan.

Thank you, Vinman.

I knew I could count on a Paesano to back me up.

yeah, me too i didn't see any racial comments in the statement...

the Gadaffi's probably won't sell any of their shares and i'm sure if they keep them they will have someone representing them on the board.
As for the logo, obviously as long as Tamoil gives Juve the most sponsorship money, Juve will keep them, it's just that the logo is so ugly, it's unbelievable.
I am also very uneasy with the Gadaffi connection but you can't really stop them from investing in Juve (those are some of the disadvantages of being publicly traded)

I'm not a big fan of Bush, either.

Wesley Clark in 2004!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's as political as I'm going to get.

I didn't mean to offend.

Bring back Clinton. He was cool :)

If he could've run for a 3rd term, I would have voted for him, no question.

He would have beaten Bush in a landslide.

Gheddafi's share with Juventus has nothing to do with the Tamoil sponsorship; that came long before.

Gheddafi had to 'sell' his share because he cannot as a player of a team own shares in another team. Obviously he did not give up completely on the shares, cos he just put them under his company's name Lafico or whatever it's called. That means he still owns around 6% of Juve's shares.

Said that, I think you should not take it against Gheddafi, at least not at the son. He's not the same person as his father and has always had good contacts with the european countries. It's like blaming Hitler's son for being a Hitler when in reality he could be a saint!

Anyway in recent years Gheddafi father is not the same as before; he has mellowed down so I don't really see why there should be so much hostility towards him.
