Will Juve swoop for Inler?

Reports in Italy are gathering pace that Juventus have hijacked Napoli’s move for Gokhan Inler.

The Azzurri and Udinese had seemingly agreed terms for the Swiss international, but Juve may have convinced the player to join them instead.

The midfielder’s agent yesterday suggested that an Italian giant wanted the player and it is believed that Juve are that club – even if the representative didn’t reveal the name of the interested party.

It’s unclear at this time how much the Stadio Friuli outfit want for the midfielder, but Juve are likely to offer cash and players in exchange.

Director general Beppe Marotta is apparently ready to tempt the Champions League qualifiers with a choice of Albin Ekdal, Manuel Giandonato and Frederik Sorensen.

The Old Lady seem to be paying very close attention to their midfield after already signing Andrea Pirlo from Milan and lining up Napoli’s Michele Pazienza.

Why oh why do we need 300 central midfielders? I hope we will not be sacrificing soreson for another midfielder!

Waiting for a decent full back and left winger, not another centre mid!

I wonder if Udinese will accept a swap: all three Juve youngsters for Inler, with no cash involved. That would be great business, as much as some of you here don't want to lose the youngsters.

Agreed, there is so much to do before concentrating on youth. Obviously, neither of 3 mentioned would play regularly in Juventus I expect and therefore trading them for a starter is very good business.

It will be taking a risk. Sometimes giving a way a youngster with potential is wrong. We almost made the mistake when we were about to send Del Piero in Parma. Sometimes it's great business, like when Inter sent a bunch of youngsters to Genoa and got Milito and Motta in return.
For me Inler is worth the three youngsters because I don't see those three becoming world class and worth a lot of money. But I may easily end up to be dead wrong. It's tough to predict how will some players develop. As far as we know right now, Giandonato may end up to be a world class CM or just an average Atalanta level player.

Alen, the point in developing youngster in most cases is having world-class or at least extremely good players around them. Today Juventus doesn't have them and therefore it is key to buy already skilled players since only in the future they will help to develop others. Many may not agree, but I believe that is way Marchisio never realized his full potential.

As for Sorensen, he is talented, but from whom he could learn? Motta? I don't think so. Playing experience? Maybe, but I don't want to see Juventus suffer for another couple of years only to see Sorensen becoming great and being sold.

Give them money + giandonato/ekdal on loan or 50% rights. We might need Sorensen next season as backup RB and CB if no one else comes, and we can't sell every youngster who shows some promise.

I see him becoming exactly that.

On the other hand I like Sorensen and I think he can easily become a very good player. Maybe not a WC player, but somebody who'd be a great option as a 3rd CB. As for Ekdal, I always liked the guy and I think he can become a good player too under the right guidance.

I do like Inler, but I'd most likely skip that swap if I were Juve. Still, I'd offer some other players like Immobile on co-ownership or something like that.
