The guy is not that bad, he is good enough. Put him next to a Pirlo, Xavi, Fabregas,...etc and he will deliver. He will run like a bulldog chasing balls, the guy is a destroyer, but don't ask him to put a creative pass to start an attack. He will clean the area, give the simple pass to the midfielder next to him, and move on, That's his job. After we got rid of Zanetti, nobody was there to take on his role, then you are asking our incompetent midfield to keep possession, but none of them capable of being consistent when it comes to delivering a pass. Back in 2008 most of the forum was hailing sissoko as the best thing since sliced bread, but now he is nothing. People tend to forget quickly these days.
Unfortunately, he showed us recently that he cannot even make simple passes without screwing up. Personally, I don't like a footballer who doesn't know how to control the ball or make decent passes, specially a midfielder.

I hope we sell Sissoko.

Honestly, I don't even know what to say to something like that. Melo's passing is not an issue whatsoever.
I guess we don't watch the same matches. All I can say is that almost every time he has made long balls this season, they were not accurate and were either intercepted or going off the field.

Melo's short range passing is very good, while his long range passing is mediocre.

Melo is a very good player, I am not saying that he is bad, far from it. I am just saying that Inler's passing is significantly superior and that he is a superior player overall. Let's not even talk about Inler's shooting, which is miles ahead of Melo's.

If he stays then maybe a change of system and addition of players capable of making a difference would bring the old Momo back.

He's not really a box-to-box player.

He plays responsibly, staying behind the ball and making sensible passes most of the time.

It's not like he's charging up and down the pitch in traditional box-to-box fashion very much.
He's played almost as a trequartista most of the season. He played really offensively high up on the pitch.

Great player, but he'd be best alongside Melo and Pirlo. Inler is a somewhat upgraded version of Marchisio. You actually see him play..

the way rumours seem to be swaying in our favour regarding inler i would be delighted with a central midfield of inler-melo-pirlo-marchisio-pazienza

for once injuries or suspensions wouldnt be a problem in cmf

I still think Marchisio is quality, but he is rather inconsistent. Inler and Marchisio have comparable qualities, but Inler is the Marchisio that DOES manage to assert himself in games.

Marchisio had a good season, its unfair of you to say he hasn't turned into one of the few quality players we have in the midfield. I'd sell everyone in our midfield (including krasic) before i'd sell marchisio.
