Inler is an excellent box to box player, he's a lot more technical than Melo and is much more imposing than Marchisio. A one man engine room that we've been lacking. Although this isn't our biggest problem area, for a good deal I'd hate to see us pass on this particular player.

Better passer, better shooter and has better movement off the ball.

He makes threat from outside of the box, unlike Marchisio. Better movement too, since most of the time when we're attacking you'll see Marchisio hiding behind some player of theirs.

Dribbling, finishing, volleying...traits that come from his days as an attacker. I agree Inler is a step or two ahead of current Marchisio, and I'd be pleased to sign him. Competition increases level, after all.

Will Juve swoop for Inler?

Reports in Italy are gathering pace that Juventus have hijacked Napoli’s move for Gokhan Inler.

The Azzurri and Udinese had seemingly agreed terms for the Swiss international, but Juve may have convinced the player to join them instead.

The midfielder’s agent yesterday suggested that an Italian giant wanted the player and it is believed that Juve are that club – even if the representative didn’t reveal the name of the interested party.

It’s unclear at this time how much the Stadio Friuli outfit want for the midfielder, but Juve are likely to offer cash and players in exchange.

Director general Beppe Marotta is apparently ready to tempt the Champions League qualifiers with a choice of Albin Ekdal, Manuel Giandonato and Frederik Sorensen.
