Trez opts for surgery Monday 11 October, 2004

Juventus could be without David Trezeguet for the next four months as a result of shoulder surgery.
The Frenchman met with doctor Gilles Walch in Lyon on Monday where all parties concerned, including Juventus, opted for an operation.
The striker will go under the knife in the Sainte Anne Lumiere clinic in the same French city on Tuesday 19 October.
Walch, who operated on Italian swimmer Domenico Fioravanti with some success in the past, will carry out the procedure.
Trezeguet has been suffering with a shoulder problem for over a year. He recently fell on it badly during the 1-1 draw against Palermo and then again against Udinese on October 3.
The club tried to treat the injury with physiotherapy but have decided for surgery to resolve the problem once and for all.
Juventus were keen on the player to have an operation immediately in the hope of having him back once the Champions’ League resumes in February.
Trezeguet will be sidelined for at least 12 weeks but could be out for as long as 16 depending on the success of the treatment.
His loss means that the Bianconeri only have Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Alex Del Piero and Marcelo Zalayeta available until the January transfer window.
However, the good news is that Del Piero is back in training after injury and could return for the game against Bayern Munich on October 19.
Ibrahimovic also seems to have shrugged off a back problem and should be available for Saturday’s clash with Messina.
good luck, trez! it hurts but IMO its the right decision otherwise he would not really solve the problem!!
hope you are back as soon as possible!
