I don't support Italy, I support the US National Team because it is indeed my country. However, I respect the Italian culture, especially the Italian-American community in the States, and I love the Serie A. Roberto Baggio is the first notable footballer I can remember watching in my life, and he, along with the Italy of 1994 during the World Cup in the States, had impacts on me. But considering I'm American I think it's sort of a duty to support my country, however I do indeed have a weak spot for Italy.

And you have stated in the past that Serie A is a "shitty" league. I do not think the situation in Italy will become so poor that we will be considered equivilent to the Bundesliga, as the Serie A still has many millionaires funding clubs and clubs such as Napoli, Genoa and of course us are coming back up.

And in case some didn't hear, 5000 supporters were at Marano for Napoli's first training session. Apparently it was so crazy that Reja had to cancel practice. If Italian clubs garner more passion such as this, and if the financial practices in said country will improve, there is no reason why the Serie A should slide to the Bundesliga level of football.

So tell me, why do support France over Croatia?
The passion and tradition in italy alone overshadows the billions of dollars being spent in england . When i see the premiership , i see a league that has sold its soul for money , Tv rights , and billionaires .

The premiership is the most overrated league there is . The italian league truely is becoming very underrated , many people consider the italian league to be the fifth or sixth best league in europe . People who are clueless about football tend to love the english league for its commercials and excellent coverage .

The Premiership is indeed a sold out league, and what I personally hate are these overzealous imbeciles stating that English football is the best in the world. That is truly a farcical statement as English football in its pure sense is the style of play and also their accomplishments. Unfortunately for them, though, England has won fuckall besides one dodgy World Cup.

I think many of these English football fans are desperate to take pride in something that is considered the best. Considering they have had much less success than the likes of Italy or even France, those facts probably have them struggling with an inferiority complex. So, with all the foreign investors and foreign help coming to the Premiership, they have built success that they would love to believe is entirely English. It's a shame that there are so many imbeciles out there that love to skew the facts, and it's all too common to hear these fans try to bridge the gap between the Premiership and English football and mold it into one strange paradox. Any objective football fan knows they are seperate entities and it is a farce to use them even remotely close to synonyms.

Okay inspector Clouseau enlighten the clueless as to what qualifies a quality league with quality football .

You cannot say which is the best league because opinions differ and the kind of football people like is different

Some prefer to be more technical while some like the hustle and bustle and get easily bored with chess like games.

I am unsure as to what England's achievements has to do with how good the premiership is because in the early 80s and through to millennium, serieA were almsot exclusively the best league but Italy were not that sucessful as a football nation.

The foreigners made it what it was and then Italian teams were spending money left right and centre to make their league the best, but somehow when the premiership does it, its wrong.

If you look at the record transfers in history, Italy would have half in the top 10.

Christian Vieri and Crespo transfer beats anything the premiership can throw at them and they happened nearly 10 years ago.

I personally would watch a good seriea game over the premiership counterparts but that is a personal decision and i sure as hell would not say they are foolish for liking their league

Can you also quit exaggerating as i do not know anyone who thinks serieA is the 6th best league in the world, pray tell which other leagues are rated higher?

You cannot blame people fro going off serieA if what they read are scandals, the most successful club relegated for cheating, drug allegations, police officer being killed etc. Spectators being allowed to bring flares on to the pitch does not a great atmosphere make.

Would you take the premiership seriously as a casual watcher of football if you read that Manchester United were relegated due to cheating and clubs like Cheslea, Arsenal, Everton and Newcastle were implicated?

You cannot blame people for being disillusioned with serieA and frankly your arguments are poorly laid out.

If you guys are gonna make a convincing argument about the merits of a league over the other, then do so with facts or witha leg to stand on because once you start throwing insults then it seems you have lost the plot.

The best league match I saw last season in any league was Inter vs Ac Milan by the way and I would always prefer serieA but those that prefer other leagues do so for a reason and it is up to you to bring up a reasonable argument not just generalise by calling them all fools.

How are you better than those who say the premiership is the best when they don't even watch seriea or other leagues if you do exactly the same thing?

I like Italian football. I really do. I find it exciting to see how Italian teams defend and how they never lose their cool. There's just so much flair and raw passion in the Serie A.

The EPL most definitely is the world's best league ATM though. IMO a league's strength is defined by the strength of its teams. Inter, Milan and to a lesser extent Juventus might be up there with Chelsea, Manchester and Liverpool, but Livorno would receive a serious ass whipping from Tottenham. Whether the Premiership is English football or not is another discussion, but I'd like to believe it is, since it's played in England. Better yet, most national team players do play in the EPL as well, Andy.

And frankly, it's not easy to be into Serie A these days. I mean, just take a glance at the scandals that have passed within the last year...

Yeah, well, we'll see how "English" the new Man City side is this coming season. Then perhaps you'll understand what I'm trying to say.

Exactly. There are far too many fair-weather fans in world football, and that's why I cannot respect many football fans in my own country. All they believe is that Italy are cheaters, as well as half of the rest of the world. Not only in Serie A, but even the World Cup.

And I ask again, why is M.A.R.K. a supposed France supporter? He has side-stepped this question far too many times and I would like to know how someone of supposed Balkan heritage went astray and found a passion for France. Just like I love US football, I better be damned sure I love my side's football in the Balkans or else I'm a person who doesn't even know who he is.
