I don't really agree that Giovinco was more talented than Marchisio, even if his style of play makes his talent a lot more recognisable. But even if he was more talented, talent alone means very little, if anything.

Other than that, there is some truth in your statement. Both players went to Empoli, subsequently returned and, as we all know, one of both players managed to convince every manager (let's not get into which of these managers were terrible, which ones were idiotic, etc. We're all well aware of the results) we had since then, while the other one never did. So yeah, Marchisio has had more oppurtunities to develop.

Which brings us to my main point: According to (almost?) 50% of the people on here, the fine & promising young player we spent most time on so far, actually isn't worth being on the team in the first place.
Hindsight is a beautiful thing. Can you imagine if we had sold or loaned Marchisio 3 or 4 years ago? I'm pretty sure no one would have agreed with that.

This being said, I do not think we need to get rid of Sorensen. I don't agree with people saying he had a good season, but considering the state of the entire team, I definitely saw enough potential in the kid.

Edit: reply to Nenna, obviously

To answer your point. That's because the player we spent most time on was less promising. Marchisio was definitely a great prospect a few years ago but he wasn't receiving the type of praise that Giovinco had been and justifiably. He impressed most times he graced the pitch including against Chelsea but I know your definition of talent is a tad different to mine. Marchisio has impressed as well throughout his career but he has never really blown me away like Giovinco was able to and considering the huge difference in their development as players, it gives a slight indication of where both players would be right now if they were to swap their development history (edit: because they are both at a similar standard as players despite that history)

Fair enough. I don't agree with it though. Because I'm more of the idea that, if they're good enough (not necessary massively talented), they'll make it. Be it at Juve or a different club.

Juventus director general Beppe Marotta will be looking to sell 11 players before the transfer window closes, according to La Gazzetta dello Sport.

The outfit are expected to sell Amauri and Felipe Melo after the pair were not included in the squad for the pre-season tour of America.

Nevertheless, they won’t be the only players that Marotta will have to find new clubs for over the next six weeks.

The Turin giants are also reportedly looking to rid themselves of Marco Motta, Zdenek Grygera, Jorge Martinez, Momo Sissoko, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Luca Toni, Luca Marrone, Albin Ekdal and Sergio Almiron.

Marrone is set to rejoin Siena after his loan spell with the Tuscan outfit last season, while Almiron is interesting Cesena. - FI

Sorensen-Chiellini will be our CB partnership in the future if Bonucci does not step up.

Bonucci should start next to Chiellini next season but he has to improve.
If football's a meritocracy then Bonucci should already be on the bench come this season.

Perhaps I'm alone in this, but I was way more impressed by Sorensen's limited showings than by any one Bonucci appearance.
