Whats ronaldinho got to do with anyhing here?

Roni is a imho primarily an entertainer, he is a genius, but again in a different niche to both lamps and Zizou.

Roni dazzles, Lamps is chelsea's midfield general....of course roni's gonna win.
Because some say Frank is the best in the world when that honour should belong to Ronnie.

Once again, why does your avatar keep reminding me of Mourinho?

If class includes Elegance, clearly Lampard doesn't have it.

The guy is a bludgeon not a rapier. His crime scenes are always messy, with forensic evidence littered all over the place for the cops to find. In fact, no sooner has he done a crime than the cops are knocking on his door.

Zizou on the other hand is the smooth criminal. You hardly ever know you've been hit. In fact, his crimes tend to arouse awe, wonder and admiration in the minds of the very persons supposed to victims.

    lol!

but no-one cana rgue about how effective Lampard is at the moment. He scores, creates, and generally just leads what is probably the best team in the world. better than Zizou at his prime? probably not. but right now, who would you want on your team?

That was one hell of a great reply!

I have to interject with a slight dose of reality. As to who is better than Lampard, well Pavel Nedvěd for one. Kaka for another. As to whether he would get into and world 11, its questionable whether he would get into some top international teams. Brazil for one and somehow I can see France dispensing with his services in favour of ZZ, even if he is pushing on. I know what he did to Ireland and to England in the Euros.

This isn't chelsea bashing btw. The reality is that although the opening run has been an impressive achievement and merits being top of the table, who could have predicted your main challengers would be tripping over thier own feet leaving Wigan is 2nd(peraps Paul Jewell has a better claim for the best manager in England).

Lampad isn't even the best player in England. Thierry Heny has been a more consistant creative force and plays a similar position, ie a free role.

Lampard is an impressive athlete mazimising his average technical ability. World class is too easily bandied about, demeaning the phrase and allowing anyone to claim it on temporary form in a league that is perhaps 2nd or 3rd best in Europe.

This unfortunately is typical here. Playes are overhyped and hen crushed when they fail to match unrealistic expectations. Tabliod Wayne is a promising talent, as of yet nothing more. Give him a break. Lampard is a fine professional footballer and thats all. And at 27 if he was going to show signs of being world class it would surely have been by now.

Ireland would take him though ;)

Lampard is a class player. He's IMO one of the best central midfielders in world football today but to compare him to Zidane is silly. His form may be better now but FFS Zizou is nearing the end of his career, Frank is in his prime. Zidane is a legend, one of the best to ever grace a football pitch, Lampard is just a very good player.

For those who say Lampard is better than Zidane, ask his teammates from the 1998 World Cup and 2000 European Championships and as recently as the Real Madrid side of 2002, who they'd rather have in their team - Lampard of today or Zidane of that era. I think I know what the answer will be.

    Better than Ronaldinho and Kaka?
Ronaldinho plays on the left, not exactly like Frank. about Kaka they're both good, I'd take Kaka anyday but right now Frank is leading the way.

At best, Lampard is a very good CM. No less, but certainly no more.
Lampard is a fine player, no doubt about that. His ability to finish off chances whether it be with a cool, sidefoot shot or a rasping piledriver make him the world's best goalscoring mid. He can pass the ball well, he works hard and he's consistent but no way is he as good as Zinedine Zidane.

To compare Lampard to Zidane is an insult to the latter.
    Once again Stu, thank you?

By the way, I've been waiting for hours for Tom to come up with the Opta stats..?

of course it is. but at least my point is that at this time, lampard is better. he is the leader of the best team in the world right now. of course zidane is nearing the end of his career, but is still considered one the best players in the world right now. but frankie is better. he's second only to ronaldinho imo. and i really do not like him.
