He's not Padoin/Pazienza level. I wouldn't mind him as a backup, just don't overpay for him. Could be useful for the Coppa and won't complain. If Diamanti is ok, Lodi is too, extremely underrated.

If Lodi is the target to be a reliable Pirlo sub, than I guess why not give Marrone a real and decent shot at that position??? The kid is talented, he needs to play.
Conte used him as a backup SW not because he isn't good enough to be a CM, but because of the lack of backup CBs in the team.
Just get a decent backup CB to replace Bonucci and play Marrone in Pirlo's place.
