Marseille game was amazing, what an opener for the Ligue. Nobody watched it?

Caen won 2-1, and the player i talked about earlier, Yosof Al-Arabi made a monkey out of E.Cisse, M'Bia and especially Taiwo. Really whoever rates Taiwo, should have watched today's game, Al-Arabi was MOM and scored the winning goal in the end(after nutmegging M'Bia too), he played 3 through balls that led to one on one goal opportunities for his teammates, but they were wasteful. Absolutely brilliant performance from Al-Arabi, if i can find a video of his skills against L'Om i'll post it here.

The first goal was a complete fuckup by Mandanda, it was a low drive from about 22 meters, Mandanda got to it, but it bounced over him

Caen really showed the Ligue what they're made of today, a newly promoted team, counterattacking L'OM and creating more chances, while at the same time putting on a show, their link up play and the interchanges between Nivet, Yatabare and Al-Arabi was a real joy to watch. They ended up beating the defending champions at their own turf, no better way to start your season
they created plenty of chances,ruffier was terrific in goal, and so was Lloris,Aubameyang did ok,showed glimpses of what he can do,but no real golden opportunity though,Lyon were attacking with full forces,both flanks,but the defense was pretty tough,and again ruffier was great..so yeah, good game,the tempo was very fast,the game kept on flowing..Lyon should have won it,a draw was a good result for Monaco..

What do you take on Montpellier vs Bordeaux?
should be an interesting match,i still think Bordeaux will win,but they have all their keepers injured right..?Montpellier really would wanna do well after crashing out of Europa..

No surprise that Montpellier couldn't make the Europa league. They did very well last season, but the price a small club like Montpellier have to pay when they do so well, is that bigger teams are going to go after their players. They lost Carasso, their keeper, they lost Eduardo they're deep lying playmaker and they lost Montano, one of their best attackers. They're going to struggle a lot this season, i think Bordeaux will win tomorrow.

No surprise that Montpellier couldn't make the Europa league. They did very well last season, but the price a small club like Montpellier have to pay when they do so well, is that bigger teams are going to go after their players. They lost Carasso, their keeper, they lost Eduardo they're deep lying playmaker and they lost Montano, one of their best attackers. They're going to struggle a lot this season, i think Bordeaux will win tomorrow.

watching montpellier bordeaux just to watch tremoulinas..and he hit the post with his right foot..

Tremoulinas had a good first half, but he was pinned down in his own half by Souleymane Camara and Bocaly in the second half, he barely got forward.

All in all it was a rather average game, and to be honest i was completely wrong about Montpellier, i thought the fact that they lost Eduardo Costa and Montano would hurt them badly, but it looks like they were adequately replaced by Estrada and Kabze. Estrada was MOM today, and he looks like he could be a real asset in set pieces. I don't want to judge Estrada on 3-4 games i saw of him, but to be honest, today especially he showed that at least ability wise he is better than Costa. Kabze looks a decent signing as well.

Bordeaux were toothless today, they had no answer to Montpellier's defense, they barely created any chances, and were limited mostly to long balls, which are useless when Chamakh isn't around. Looks like Bordeaux are a team in decline.

I do know that he was tipped as a good young prospect. Seeing him going there must mean that he's even better than that. He's not Subotic nor Vidic but he can probably be good.

You already know the starting lineup. Norway played a 4-5-1, their plan was to give away posession of the ball and try to hit the french on the counter and set pieces.

I think that Benzema didn't started due to some kind of request madrid made the NT? Real has a game against bayern on friday so maybe it was because of that.

France started dominating the game in the first half, keeping the ball and completing a lot of passes, they seem more comfortable on the ball than how they've been for the last years. They had some chances though mostly long shoots, Hoarau had a clear chance with a flying header inside the box but the keeper saved it. (Norway's keeper was amazing i admit).

Ruffier: He behaved good and responded well when he was called upon, he had nothing to do in the goals. Made a couple fantastic saves to prevent Norway's 3rd goal. I was really impressed by him (though i still would like Frey to make it sometime during this years)

Cissokho had an average game, had a couple decent crosses but he wasn't that good defensive wise although Norway didn't attack much on the left, but he was exposed a couple times.

Mexés had quite an average game too, you could tell the guy is still lacking fitness and that he didn't got much playing time last season, he seemed rusty. Had a really good tackle inside the penalty area to prevent a clear goal though.

Rami was bad, and with bad i mean really bad, he was wasteful. His positioning sucked a lot in this game and seemed as if he was in another match, actually Mexés was forced to do that great tackle in the penalty area because he stood still during that play (it was on his side of the box). I hadn't seen him before but this match was awful (what's your opinion on him anyway?)

Fanni was bad too, had a couple decent crosses and a really good one to Hoarau but was skinned a lot by Norway, and he didn't do much to help Rami either so that side of the defense was pretty bad.

You could also tell that those guys have little to no time playing together as they seemed out of sync sometimes and suffered a lot from set pieces (norway's first goal) And Norway's starting striker (who's name i can't remember atm) troubled them A LOT in the first half, he even missed a simple tap in front of goal with Ruffier completely beaten.

M'Vila had a good game at the back, he seemed comfortable with the ball and his passing was accurate, the guy was composed too.

Moussa was very lively coming back to win balls and going up front too, that guy is quality , he got a bit lost towards his last minutes on the game before he was subbed, but it might be due to fitness?

N'Zogbia never really seemed to fit into the team, he had a couple average crosses and gave away posession several times, i didn't like him. he was subbed at half time for Menez.

Nasri seemed to be everywhere, he sometimes went to the left and try to play with Zogbia and the same in the right with Moussa, he also went deep to collect the ball several times through the game, the guy was eager and his passing and vision was good, he even won a couple balls in norway's half of the pitch, in the 2nd half when Menez and Ben Arfa came in he seemed more comfortable and linked up with them very good, he alongside Ben Arfa was France's most dangerous men.

Remy seemed eager to score in the first half, he hold up the ball a couple times and had a couple dribbles and long distance shoots 1 wide and 1 over the upper bar. Was subbed in the first half for Ben Arfa.

Hoarau was like a ghost, i didn't like his game and apart from the flying header i can't recall much from him. Subbed for Benzema at 60 minutes or so.

Menez entered in the second half and provided much needed movility on the left, he had a good understanding with Nasri and Ben Arfa.

Ben Arfa came for Remy and his impact was inmediate, scored a beatiful goal in the second minute of the second half, a long low shot into the corner of the goal, he skinned norwegians defenders too, his dribbling was really good. You can tell he's gonna be great if he somehow gets consistency and sorts his head.

Benzema came replacing Hoarau at 60th minute or something but didn't have an impact at all on the game, he dribbled a defender and his shot was deflected into a corner and that's about it.

Lassana Diarra replaced M'Vila and seemed good most of the times, but he had a terrible mistake that ended in Norway's second goal and finally cost the match, bad game for Lass although i expect to see more from him in the NT.

France has no good quality centerbacks, that is going to be a big problem. Believe it or not, Rami is actually one of the better alternatives out there. Which says more about the lack of quality CB's than Rami's ability. I guess, France have to rely on Mexes now, and hope that one of Rami, Ciani or maybe even Koscielny in the future steps up.

As for Sissoko, i have always rated him. I think he will go on to be a top player. Glad to hear he did well for the NT. I wish Blanc will continue calling him up more, now that he's impressed in Blanc's first game.

Hoarau doesn't deserve to be in the NT, thats for sure. With Henry, Trezeguet and Anelka no longer options. Benzema has to step up, Remy has to move to a bigger team than Nice, Gignac has to step up too.

I'm glad to hear about Samir. He's been doing great in the pre season, this could well be the season where he explodes. I look forward to seeing him in our first game against Liverpool, Cesc won't play for that one, so the onus of creativity falls on Samir.
