Marseille have reportedly agreed to personal terms with Toulouse striker Andre-Pierre Gignac, according to La Provence.

The player's agent, Jean-Cristophe Cano and OM sporting director Jose Anigo have reportedly ironed out the details of a potential contract between the player and the club. However, the Ligue 1 champions have yet to agree a transfer fee with his current employers Toulouse.

Marseille chairman Jean-Claude Dassier confirmed the situation, inisting an offer will be made to the club in the near future.

"Marseille and the player have agreed on the sporting project and contract terms," he said, but did not comment on rumours of a four-year deal.

"We are negotiating with Toulouse and a proposal will be made very soon, but not today."

The 24-year-old had a prolific 2008-09 campaign scoring 24 goals in league action, his output dropped significantly last season, but he was still included in France's 2010 World Cup squad. It would seem that 1993 UEFA Champions League winners immediately turned their attention to Gignac after missing out on Sevilla hitman Luis Fabiano.
Very good signing IMO, specially if Niang leaves.

It looks increasingly likely that he will leave, after missing Friday training and consequently been kicked out of the squad for the Valenciennes game.

According to reports Marseille reached an agreement with Nice for Remy. He has not agreed personal terms yet and has an offer from Hoffenheim too.

Marseille probably want him even more, they needed a striker even before they sold Niang. Now they desperately need a striker. If Ben Arfa goes, they're going to need a good winger too.

Ya man, get with the program:p, he even played a few games for them. He was their best player in their last game against Caen, the one that they lost. He really did not deserve to be on the losing side.

and speaking of Caen, watch out for Yosuf El Arabi Aush, i never knew him before this season. But he was absolutely majestic in the first game against L'OM, the skills he did in that game, Alarzboy could make a whole viva futbol volume only from Yosof's skills against Marseille, to top it off, he scored the winning goal in a surprising win in the Velodrome too. Against Lyon he played rather well and scored the first goal too.

Really nice player to watch, alongside Monaco winger loaned to Caen this season, Yoan Mollo. Caen are the team to watch this season, you heard it here first. Two wins against L'OM and Marseille consecutively. Impressive stuff

L'OM bought Remy:

Marseille have completed the signing of coveted Nice striker Loic Remy, who was also being tracked by Liverpool, Arsenal and Stoke.

The French champions agreed a fee, reportedly in the region of 15 million euros (around £12.4 million), and the France international is excited at the prospect of linking up with the current Ligue 1 champions.

An earlier statement on Marseille's official website read: ''L' OM and l' OGC Nice have found an agreement in principle for the transfer of attacker Loic Remy. The 23-year-old player will arrive at Marseille this afternoon and will undergo a medical before the signing of his contract. He will then be presented to the press.''

Marseille are also interested in another France forward, Toulouse's Andre-Pierre Gignac having been rebuffed in bids for Luis Fabiano and Dider Drogba this summer, but the capture of Remy may prove enough for them.

Coach Didier Deschamps had been chasing Sevilla's Luis Fabiano but was put off by the prohibitive sums involved.

"In as far as the expectations of the public are concerned I'd hoped to bring in a striker of international calibre like Fabiano,'' he told 'Experts OM'.

"But when I was told about the figures being spoken about I cannot ask the club to buy whatever the cost. I don't have the right to ask that. If the price is not reasonable, then stop.''

Coach Deschamps said of his new recruit: "He is a young international with great potential. He has great qualities and also great room for improvement.

"He can play in all of the attacking positions and I expect him to be effective and score goals. His versatility is a good thing, even if he prefers one position.

"It will create competition for places, but it does not hurt. He has speed and power which make him dangerous for opposing defences.''

Remy earlier revealed that he was delighted to be the target of the reigning Ligue 1 champions.

''I am very pleased and proud that Marseille are interested in me,'' Remy said in L'Equipe. ''After waiting so long for a transfer, everything has accelerated very quickly. I'm surprised. I need time to think but I am committed (to moving).''

Remy, 23, will step into the shoes vacated by Mamadou Niang, inheriting his number 11 shirt following the Senegalese striker's move to Fenerbahce.

And reports saying L'OM to keep on pursuing Gignac despite having signed Remy, Gameiro for 10m if they can't get Gignac.
