Fred (or any other African/Ligue 1 expert), could you tell me how good Gervinho is please? I feel like watching a Lille match soon and noticed that he has scored a lot of goals this season.

Oh, Liile, huh? You will not regret watching them, one of the most entertaining Ligue outfits.

Gervinho has always been really talented, ever since he was at Le Mans. Talented player, thats a really really good dribbler. One of Lilles top performers, along with Hazard and Frau. Lille have scored more goals than any other Ligue team too.

The only criticism i have of Gervinho, is that he is too much of a ball hog. Which is an absolute shame because his link up play when he isn't selfish is really good. Lilles next game is against Rennes, promises to be a really entertaining game, would be nice if you can catch that game.

Yes indeed, I see their games regularly have high scores. The 4-3 with Lyon looked brilliant.

Thanks. I've watched about 60% of their highlights this season and noticed he linked up nicely with my favourite (Hazard) for a few so got excited. Looks handy, need to form an opinion on him. I assume he's very athletic and comfortable in possession?

The Rennes game was the one I was hoping to catch live, and I'm getting a torrent for the Europa league game they have on Thursday.

Hazard is an absolute joy to watch too. Indeed Gervinho is very comfortable on the ball, he's got really good close ball control, which helps him in his dribbling. Another player that is fun to watch in Lille is Ludovic Obraniak, nice little talented winger that is quite good on the ball. He has a sweet left foot.

Rennes are quite enjoyable themselves actually. They're a team that plays some really good football, but unfortunately are not doing too well this season. They absolutely destroyed Bordeaux two weeks ago though, one of the teams that always have high attendance rates, and their stadium has a great atmosphere, which is what makes their games enjoyable.

Watch out for Gyan Asamoah and Sylvain Marveaux(their best player) who are the two top players at Rennes. Marveaux in particular is an exciting left winger that can score a lot of goals and is quite pacey and a good dribbler. Leroy, Briand and Rod Fanni are other players who are quite good for Rennes.

Okay thanks, they always do look capable going forwards. Seems like they have quite a few players (including Football Manager legend Robert Vittek ) that are great at going forward. And Rio 'joining Juventus in 2007' Mavuba holding the midfield :D

Nice to see Gyan doing well too, I remember him being really frustrating in 2006 WC. Thanks for the build up to the game, you sold it to me, hope both teams go out for the win.

Huge lol at the Montpellier-Bordeaux game. Laughing my ass off, so is my brothers and father :D

Montpellier had a pk, they missed it, shoots straight at the goal, they get a second pk later on, he scores it (top corner), but has to retake it because his overeager teammates run in way too early. He retakes it, shoots it bit too centralish and goalie saves it (again). The face of the pk taker and the reaction towards his teammates who made him retake it is

Yeah that was quite funny :D

Carasso flopped in the end though. Costa's free kick should never have gone in.

After Bordeaux drew to Monaco its Lyons chance now to reach Bordeaux. They're fucking it up up until now though, losing 0-1 at home to St Etienne. St Etienne showing Real Madrid just how its done, Lyons defense just cannot handle St Etienne's counter attacks.
