FFS, still too far away from me. Message to whoever organises these pre-season friendlies: PLAY IN LONDON!
Quit whinging, London ain't the centre of the universe like some folk think. Plenty of stuff happens right on your doorstep, I'm sure it won't do you any harm to travel up north once in a while.

Coventry City to face Italian giants

Coventry City have announced they will play a pre-season game with Juventus at the Ricoh Arena. The game against the side demoted to Serie B for their alleged part in the corruption that is Italian football only to be promoted straight back, will take place on Tuesday July 31st at 7.45pm at the Arena.

A ticket to cover both this and the Udinese game will be available and prices will be announced shortly.

The Old Lady of Italian football play in a black and white kit which is a tribute to Notts County and are managed by former Chelsea and Valencia boss Claudio Ranieri and feature the likes of Pavel Nedved ,Gigi Buffon, Alessandro Del Piero, Vincenzo Iaquinta, Mauro Cameronesi and David Trezeguet.

Managing Director Paul Fletcher told the club website: "I think it says a lot for Coventry City and the Ricoh Arena that we can attract major forces in Italian football such as this. "The Juventus game will be a showpiece event for us and we're also delighted to be playing Udinese. It would be great if we could attract excellent attendances for each game."

City manager Iain Dowie said: "Juventus are a huge team with a great history and these are undoubtedly the kind of games that every player wants to take part in. "Even though it is only a pre-season match, we'll be going into the match wanting to prove that we can compete with some of the best players in the business. I'm sure it will be a very competitive game and a great spectacle for all Coventry City supporters."

were also playing coventry on the 31st of this month, its a tuesday, bloody typical the only game i can get to is played when im at EFF-ing WORK!!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!
arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh why so late i wud of gone otherwise!!!!!!!

it takes about an hr on the train to get to coventry as its about 20 mins on the train from birmingham new street station, the journey from watford which is basically north london to birmingham takes about 1hr 20 give of take 5-10 mins, the price should be around 25 quid bit cheaper if you got a student rail card, but i wish juve had arranged this the same time as the other pre season fixtures!!

I'm on holiday that week but as a Coventry City season ticket holder as well as a Juventino I will not be missing this game for anything, I will come back just for this game.
CCFC are doing a double ticket for the Juve/Udinese games so I think there should be two big gates, Juve have a lot of fans in Club Londra and across the country and that is without any Italians coming across, Coventry fans are also sure to turn out, looking forward to it.

I have emailed juventus club londra ultras as i could not find any tickets for the away sections of the grounds. Does anyone know how this works i.e. how the tickets are bought through them and how are they purchased on the day as i have always usually bought tickets directly from the club

    Thanks

I totally understand why it is a huge deal for Coventry city but why are we playing them , even in preseason? Whats the connection as I don't get it? The last time Juve were in England for preseason was after wc98. But we did play against Newcastle which is a premiership side. if thats the way we wanna do things why not play Harrow Borough football club, at least I can walk to the game then. I cannot see how this game will be televised either so thats another nuisance value from a personal point of view

the only connection for me between coventry, juve and myself is the fact their manager used to play for my local team and i support juve :toast:
