i would suggest that, but the problem is that Davids is not a holding midfielder, so it's hard for him to destribute the ball. all he does is get the ball.

That's why a player like Tacchi is needed with him.

check out post #2 in this thread to see my formation(with transfers).
So substitute Davids for Zamby,a nd Tacch for Davids and you've a perfect team, except for Iuliano and Pessotto who are liabilities to me.

well all i can say is a i dont like the lonse striker formation...i feel the lone striker is a poor way of attacking, the striker WILL be isolated often. Unles we have a team like utd who have a player who can play as a lone striker AND get considerable support from the midifield (giggs, scholes seba).

Why could not Juve play that way (Nedved, Camo, Davids)

camo is not a run maker, neither is davids in terms of runs into the box....maybe nedved but thats it.

we dont really have players like ljunberg or schole who can make those runs, posssibly neddy tho:cool:

fair point Ian. Fact is you have trez against RVn, different types of player. VN never gets isolated as he holds the ball up for his teammates, trez doesn't. Also Davids is not very good at shooting so he can't contribute in the same way scholes does, likewise Camo and Veron, veron is obviously a class above and has far better shooting skills IMO.

B/c our players are made for pressing. Slack and others already did a great job of demonstrating our disabilities with this formation.

United plays more of a 4-4-1-1.

This is how I would play if I was Man Utd's coach:

    Ruud Solskjær

    Veron
    Giggs Beckham
    Keane

    Neville Rio Blanc Silvestre

    Barthez

Giggs and Becks here play on the whole wing, mainly going forward with fast runs and making crosses, but also defending when required. At the same time, the team is really dangerous with Veron being their playmaker and RvN together with Ole Gunnar up front. However, Keane would then be their only defensive midfielder, so the opponents could easily attack from the middle. Pretty good team, although the defence could be better.(btw I'm not a man u fan, I just got really bored and started to analyze man u's tacktics...oh my god I think I took the wrong pills this mourning!:D)

    What do you think?

Well, as long as we are analysing Man U tactics, you forgot Schole, and O'shea would be much better than Blanc in the back line.

I'd put Silvestre at left back, neville at right back, Ferdinand and Brown in the centre.

I'd drop keane for butt, and I agree with the non-inclusion of scoles unless he can really play as a second striker. One up front does not suit them.

Brown in the center? Why? he certainly no better than O'shea and he is mile better than Neville at right back, that doesn't make a lick of sense to me.

As for Keane and Butt, I would also take Butt, Keane is washed up. And Scholes has to be in the line-up somewhere, he is too good to sit on the bench.

IMO G.Neville is more suited to right back than brown, and brown is certainly better at cb than full back. IMO he is better than O 'Shea also..but either way it wouldn't make too much diff which one was with rio.

I just thought that it was funny because Barthez is a better striker than a goalkeeper.
