Sure,

Go to skins/galaxy/graphics/backgrounds

You downloaded the shit I uploaded probably, just choose the one you want and rename it to "default", and delete an ugly one that you're using now

CL background is the best for this skin, trust me, you'll be amazed

Once u do that, just go to preferences and reload the skin

I copied the backgrounds in the galaxy section and put them under the galaxy +calendar+footer, will that work?

Nope, don't do that, there's no background folder.

"Galaxy" is the main folder, others are kinda add-ons

I like the one with grass, but CL is the best because of blue att. colours

But you can always experiment a bit, change it whenever you like.

Keep only one background there, "default", the rest copy/paste to some folder on your desktop to make it easier
