We need to accept that Pazzini is likely who our board will pursue over the summer. It is fun to dream about players like Dzeko or Torres but realistically either would cost half of our summer transfer budget and both would likely be put off by no CL.

He may not be worth the 20-25 mil Samp will want but he is underrated around here.
He's having a good season and he's relied a bit on Cassano. Even so, he is a little maligned around here. I still think we should aim higher, though, presuming there's a quality striker at that level who could do without the CL for at least a season.

You can say that we will buy lesser, cheaper players. But at the same time, this squad will have to shrink due to the lack of European play -- for budgetary reasons as well as depth need reasons. All the more reason to pass on the Poulsens and recruit fewer and better.

I'm out of here. Hopefully Inter plane will crash on their way to spain.

We said exactly the same things about Amauri and Iaquinta, look where that got us.

The board just can't afford to fuck up again. If they sign Pazzini and he'll end up like Iaquinta or Amauri, then its going to be a big loss for him and they'll have to go out and look for another one.

Signing Pazzini is my new fair.
I was against both signings beforehand but I have to say that Iaquinta was not at all a bad move. We got him at an affordable price and had it not been for his long injury layoff this season and the time it took him to regain his fitness he would have quite an impressive record for a sub.

Amauri is just :sergio: . I still believe him to be a very talented player and have no idea why he has sucked so hard this season.

If Pazzini is signed I will give him the benefit of the doubt before passing judgment. Still I feel we are going after the wrong Samp striker.

Because he's a target man and needs service from the wings. With wingers he seems to do better as then he can do his job of holding the ball up, laying it off outside and getting aerial chances in the box.

But don't expect many here to say that or agree with me. Carry on, Amauri has always been a horrendous, useless player.

Yes I know. But when we signed Iaquinta, he was supposed to be our 3rd striker. Right now, we're looking for our main striker, nr 1, our star. Pazzini doesn't fit the bill.

.
That may have something to do with his initial lack of goals but I think his confidence has been shot as a result of the goal drought. Earlier in the season even when he wasn't scoring he was showing the skill and determination that he showed in previous seasons which is now lacking.

He plays with a loser mentality now, with every missed opportunity and stupid foul he gives away he gets more and more frustrated and playing bitter is not working for him at all. This guy needs a major confidence boost.
