He has 2 goals in 4 games for Inter, one in a bloody derby.
And two assists and one penalty won over him.

One of the assists was for the winning goal against Siena, while the second one was a great deep ball to Milito yesterday (dunno if it counts as an assist though, since Abate also touched the ball).

Pandev has a very good vision. Just notice how he unexpectedly makes those long distance passes, as he did yesterday for the first goal.

Seriously, what's there not to like about him? (apart from playing for Inter :D)

Well for a start he looks like a man with some serious criminal records.

This reminded me of us drawing sketches and graphs comparing our player to Inter's before the season started.

Buffon > Cesar
Caceres < Maicon
Chiellini > Lucio
Cannavaro < Samuel
Grosso = Santon
Melo > Motta
Sissoko > Muntari
Camoranesi > Cambiasso
Diego > Stankovic
Trezeguet > Milito
Del Piero < Eto'o

7-3 to us. Good old days :touched::touched:
Even if this comparison for individual players is true, one or two weak link in our team can destroy the team. What can you expect with our defense consisting Canna and Grosso. You can ask Fred in yesterday FA Cup against Stoke, when their defense consist Silvestre and Campbell. Although they have Fabregas, Arshavin, Vela upfront.

Absolutely not.

Amauri's only advantage over Pandev is in the air. Even in some other Amauri's strong points, Pandev beats him.
Ball control and dribbling for example.

Pandev has the disadvantage to be from some unknown country on the football map and he wasn't hyped enough. If he was Italian, Brazilian or an Italian wannabe from Brazil, he'd have been rated much higher.

And unlike others who need one or two matches to draw conclusions, I've been praising Pandev and follow him for a long time now. I believe me and Tahir have been Pandev's greatest fans here for years.

I'm happy that an authority like Mourinho shares my opinion. He was always, since he came to Italy, praising Goran and saying how great talent he is. He even said that the derby will be decided by one of Pandev and Dinho, with which he indirectly told us who are the big match players in both teams.

Watch with your eyes guys, not with what the media has been serving you. If you do that you'll see a great talent on the ball, brilliant touch and dribbling, big match player.

P.S: And i'm a huge Amauri fan!

Pandev is definitely a more talented* player than Amauri, that wasn't even up for debate in the first place. But Amauri is better than Pandev in more facets of the game than just aerial ability. His off the ball movement as a striker is better than Pandev, he is much more of a hard worker than Pandev, he's a better finisher and physically Amauri is a monster.

What i don't understand is how you rate Drogba so highly while at the same time you don't rate Amauri. Now of course i'm not saying they are on a similar level, what i mean is that they are the same type of striker.

Amauri has shown that he can score goals, he has shown that when he is on form he can destroy teams like AC Milan and Real Madrid. He was excellent when he was at Palermo, i remember one of his first seasons at Palermo(can't remember which one) he was the top scorer in the league for almost half a season, up until his long term injury. I believe Amauri was a better player at Palermo than Pandev was at Lazio, its just too bad Amauri couldn't conclusively prove it due to his several injuries.

Oh and i think you know me well enough than to think i am swayed by the media or Pandev's nationality.

* By talented, i mean more skilled on the ball. So that we don't have any problems with definitions

Defenitely disagree with Fred in how he (down)rates Pandev, even if I said we shouldnt sign Pandev if we can do better (allways been real skillfull, just too inconsistent to be a impact player for a top club). Amauri has very little over Pandev, especially talentwise, Pandev has shown and proven more in Serie A.

I like Amauri's real dynamic qualities, but we should ask ourselves by now if his breakthrough season was the norm or an exception in terms of what he can offer. While Pandev even though hasnt lived up to his talent as an impact player (his seasons tend to be divided between hot and cold per half), has shown more then Amauri for sure IMO.

Doesnt mean I changed my mind about Pandev just because he went to Inter, still unsure about him despite his obvious talent, if he can "carry" a top club regurarly.
Its not that i (down) rate Pandev, i probably rate him just as highly as you do. Because i think he will be a very good signing for Inter, and he was atop player for Lazio. For Juve i thought he wouldn't be so good, because he would have come with high expectations pinned on him to carry the team. At Inter he is there behind Milito and Eto'o so there isn't much pressure on him.

I think the difference me and you have here is that i think Amauri isn't given enough credit. I think he is a monster of a striker that is just underperforming in a team that is in chaos right now.

He was brilliant for Palermo too, but injuries hampered his career there.

Pandev wont have to carry anything. He is still behind Eto & Milito.
Thats why for Inter, he is a really good signing.

Even if this comparison for individual players is true, one or two weak link in our team can destroy the team. What can you expect with our defense consisting Canna and Grosso. Arshavin didn't start the game, but i see your point here. Good example indeed. A rather good team with Fabregas, Vela and Walcott in it, couldn't beat a Stoke team due to the fact it had two extremely poor players in the form of Silvestre and Campbell.

Matrix criticised for mask stunt
Tuesday 26 January, 2010
Italy's Minister of Defence has criticised Inter defender Marco Materazzi for wearing a Silvio Berlusconi mask after Sunday's victory over Milan.

The World Cup winner didn't take part in the derby, but still made his presence felt after the final whistle when he celebrated with his team-mates in the guise of Milan's patron and Italy's Prime Minister.

Materazzi is widely expected to receive a ban for his actions, as paying a simple fine would be seen as a fair price for a bit of fun.

Ignazio La Russa, a renowned Inter fan, said: “Marco is a friend, but his actions were an enormous fall in style.”

“I think that he didn't do it to give [a political] weight to his gesture. I have never seen anyone mock the President of a football team, not even Presidents as invasive as Berlusconi.

“And since Berlusconi is the Prime Minister, and Materazzi's gesture can be manipulated, I will call for Marco to apologise and make it understood that he didn't mean to offend the President,” La Russa concluded.
