Unbalanced, especially when it is with two attacking fullbacks.
Barcelona plays very similar to that formation with Dani alves and Abidal with a lot of success. Having Sissoko and Melo would offer the defense plenty of cover

Wouldn't having Amauri as a target man lead to Diego and Cassano being able to score a lot themselves?
yes

But Barca's team is generally much stronger technically, so they are much better at keeping possession, so they have less defending to do.

And Barca have Xavi, Iniesta and Messi who were taught all their life to play that kind of football. Went through the same school that practices such football. They then buy technical players who can play such football, but we can see that even such players have problems learning to play in such system. It took more than a year for Henry and we'll see how long it will take for Zlatan.
Then you have Puyol and Pique who also went through the same school, and of course, a coach who was in Barcelona from 1984 until 2001 and who breaths this kind of football.
They had the basis and they only needed to integrate certain players into the team.

It's hard, i'd say impossible, to make a copy of that football. It will take years and years of practicing, it will take a right selection of players.
If someone tries to copy that football over night, the copy will be much worse than the original, and it will fail, imo.

Absolutely.

If Juve start playing Barca-esque football in the youth teams now, the senior team might be able to play the same way in 8-10 years time.

Lol I never said Juventus would realistically copy that kind of football, it was just a fantasy team. Even if Juve had Rafinha, Cassano, and Zarate that is only a lineup that I would use in Fifa to tear up my opponents with an Xbox controller, I even mentioned that it probably wouldn't work in the original post but it looks badass...

i don't know if these one target man alone formation would work out ... just remember the target man would always have to battle against two central defenders, no matter how great the target man is he will be tired by the 60th minute always trying to fight against two centre backs. and if the stamina is gone the concentration is as well and even a good target men will miss without the needed concentration in front of goal. further it is easier for the defense to watch for one striker, no matter how great the passes are that diego and cassano play ... you will never have the effect that the striker sneaks away behind some opponent and scores, because all defenders eyes are on him.

just imagine this against an enemy with a packed midfield (5 midfielders) and you will have problems to bring the ball even to diego or cassano ...

two many dribblers in one team is not good either, because diego would be pissed if cassano did dribble to much instead of passing to him and the other way around

I know, but Cassano has been playing the support striker role all his life. I even remember him play as a lone striker on some matches for Roma and Italy.
Cassano in Juve will play the very same position Del Piero occupies. It's not gonna be a lone striker formation (like it was with Milan when Seedorf and Kaka played behind Inzaghi), it will simply be a 4-3-1-2.
Del Piero-Trez is no different than Cassano-Striker.
Or even better comparison ....when Zidane was behind Del Piero-Inzaghi...tactically it's no different with Diego behind Cassano-Striker.

that is another story, i agree ... someone very creative as second striker would bind a centre back and still be great, but hey ... it's not as if we never had that situation ...

diego- AMF
cassano - SS
poacher

is pretty much the same as

zidane - AMF
Del Piero - SS
Bippo Inzagi - Poacher

and remember we did not win everything like we was supposed to
