Not really, one can still judge the humourous bit of it, and he has COMPLETELY lost it since coming to Italy, except that one funny comeback to Catania's presidents, he has just been obviously frustrated egomaniac (tactically way harder then he figured) who makes silly outburts that gets criticised by the media and all the calcio figures, because they dont accept that as just "sensationalist entertainmentt" as the english did.

It has been like this for a year, since his first press conference, italian media in general acted against his disrespectful manner, because they see it as too much, as it is.
Exactly.

Italian media turn on Mou

Wednesday 19 August, 2009

The Italian media has sided with Marcello Lippi in what they see is a trumped up controversy by Jose Mourinho.

The Inter Coach was furious when the Italy boss predicted Juventus would win the Scudetto this season, accusing him of trying to ‘guide’ the Serie A tournament and favour one club over another.

“Quite frankly, this controversy feels like it has been dragged out of nowhere by force,” wrote Marco Ansaldo in La Stampa newspaper.

“We have to ask why the Inter Coach even wanted to create it. One possible explanation is he is suffering withdrawal symptoms, as it has been 10 days since his bile was spewed at Lazio for the Italian Super Cup defeat.

“More than Lippi, Mourinho’s real target is Juventus. He is trying to immediately crank up the tension the same way he did with Arsene Wenger, Sir Alex Ferguson and Rafa Benitez.

“Last season he had it easy with Claudio Ranieri, but for the moment Ferrara does not have the authority to become a genuine target, so he is picking on Lippi for an entirely innocent prediction. Here we go again…”

La Repubblica were even more scathing in their analysis of the incident, laughing at Mourinho’s ‘drama queen’ tendencies.

“His majesty was insulted!” joked Fabrizio Bocca. “Now we cannot say, or even dare think, that Inter are not the best, the most attractive and winning side in all the world. We must also glorify them every day.

“Mourinho’s problem is he is not just a great Coach, but so desperately wants to be loved, and for a side that wins as much as Inter do, that tends to be impossible.

“If he keeps pouring fuel on the fire of controversy the way he did throughout last season, then it’s unlikely he’ll get more sympathy.”

La Gazzetta dello Sport brought back the famous accusation of “intellectual prostitution” that Mourinho aimed at the media last year.

“Thank goodness we saw at the Trofeo Berlusconi that Leonardo and Ferrara were relaxed and friendly on the touchline, otherwise our vision of football would’ve been Mourinho furiously hurling himself at Lippi,” wrote Luigi Garlando.

“How can a prediction be offensive or even affect the outcome of a campaign? This is the Coach who threatened to get back to Medieval Press conferences because he felt unable to express his opinion, yet now he wants to stop a colleague saying who might win the title.

“And now if someone mentions intellectual prostitution? Did we need to poison the football season before it even started?”
this is what the guy wants and everyone including the media are playing right into it.

i hope Mou fails so that his antics cease

I'd love to have him.

Word up, which one?

Yea, he's always scoping out the Juventuz forums.
Timothy Barton bought the club and it's officially confirmed

:) Regarding Mourinho I heard he is a member in the forum and likes to mess around.
I just meant to say people in the media, but I have to admit it, I love that mother fucker because he makes alot of drama around and makes it more enjoyable.

i think Mou needs to be in England or Spain to play these kind of useless games with everyone. Italians aren't much fun
I don't think they get offended per se, they're just like "Who the fuck is this punk?", especially Lippi who has won everything. In the Old Country you have to earn some respect and credibility before you can talk out of your ass.

Don't you guys watch Mafia movies? Lippi is a 'made' guy, and Mourinho is just some small time gangster :D

He lacks respect, other managers in italy talk about calcio and game plan in their press confs, but Mourinho likes to act and make fun and also cause controversy.

Hehe cant believe you guys are defending douchebaggery. I dont mind Mourinho in general, but ofcourse they quesiton stupid and disrespectful behaviour, especially when done with such arrogance. I mean, the first thing he said to the media was calling them intellectual prostitutes, then weekly take digs at any opposition coach, no one shit they wont easily find this sympathetic (and especially when your coaching is nothing out of the ordinary so far, then yeah they will react to the arrogance).

And no, Mourinho wouldnt be liked in Spain, he was quite unpopular in Spain in overall, and not just in Catalan land, in how he behaved towards Barca in couple years in a row in CL games, they found his tactics and comments low base too.

North Texas-based investment and acquisition firm JMJ Holdings said Tuesday it intends to acquire the Italian-based AS Bari football club for approximately $25 million.

The club, which recently was promoted to Italy’s professional-level Serie A football (or soccer) league, currently belongs to the European Matarrese family.

If an acquisition goes through, JMJ President and Chief Executive Officer Tim Barton will become president of the franchise. The parties are still conducting due diligence on the proposed acquisition and expect a sale could take place in October.

Dallas-based JMJ Holdings was founded by Tim Barton in 1990. Barton found out about the team’s sale while traveling through southern Italy, where his firm already was invested in green energy initiatives.

“This is a fantastic opportunity,” said Barton. “The Bari fans are passionate about their team, and with new management, we hope to grow this franchise into one of the most successful and competitive in Europe. We have been working very closely with the family to ensure a smooth transition and both parties are supportive of a positive outcome for the team.”

Barton told the Dallas Business Journal Tuesday his firm will be going through the players' contracts in the next 45 days and evaluating financial issues. He added that activity is picking up in Italy's soccer leagues, with different investors now coming in and buying Serie A teams. "We see that this is an opportunity to participate in the maturing of the industry in Italy," he told the DBJ.

Barton said one of the issues his firm may be deciding in the future is whether a sister Bari football team should be set up in another location. He said with soccer growing in the United States, there is even the possibility of setting up a sister team in this country.
This sort of an invasion will go a long way in ruining Serie A for me im afraid:(
