As do most of those living in war torn, oppressed so called 3rd world countries, who gladly exchange with their 1st world brothers.

His feelings are honarable and genuine, so I do indeed have great empathy for his pain.

honorable and genuine? you mean selfish aspiration for one last swan song, and this first world brother never cried or lamented his state.
beckham was and will always be a joke of a character as far as i'm concerned.

Kakà goes out with a major injury, nobody gives a rat's ass.

Beckham, who at his best was runner up for the Ballon d'Or in 1999, has memorials all over the friggin' sports pages in his decline +11 years later.

Not that it's a contest, but wtf? It's not like the guy invented the sport, but people are treating him like he did.

"Oh my, what will the England NT do without him in the lineup in WC2010?!?" :scared:

Well, pretty much everything they planned to do without him a couple of months ago.

In the meantime, let's interview Udinese's Simone Pepe to see what he thinks about the Beckham injury. Sure, his team was actually playing Palermo and not Milan at the time, but he has a TV set and that qualifies him for an interview...

David is not only a good freekick taker or crosses. He's almost a complete player for his position. Perfect vision on the field, perfect stamina, very good defensively and knows how to open up a space for his team mates.

I hope he doesn't retire and return to the field back soon.

That was just a whisker onside, no surprise that the assistant got that one wrong.
Those assistants keep doing that all season long. Either phantom penalties, either not calling offsides when Milan scored, either calling offsides when their opponents score from non-offside positions.

So far Hoori told me at least about 15 goals Milan scored/ didn't concede that the ref and the linesman can be excused, but it's getting suspicious how Milan get all these calls, that look 50-50 at first glance, in their favor.

Mourinho is 100% right when he says that the refs are anti-Inter and pro-Milan this season. It's obvious even to the blind.
Too bad for him that he's a born whiner and no-one is taking him seriously anymore, because he's completely right this time.

I see you have backup for Del Piero.

He had to leave it in order to even be considered for a place at the World Cup to begin with.

Don't blame Beckham for the poor quality of the MLS. And he didn't "leave" them. He's on loan. And playing a lot more football than a 35 year old should be playing.

I wish there were a lot more players like him who would do whatever it takes to represent their country.

He tore his Achilles tendon. He's done. there is no way he can make it in time, and that's too bad. He really wanted to play.

But the underlying tone of some people here that are actually happy that someone is injured is really sickening
Well said. He lives and breaths football and loves his national team. It is a real shame. And shame on those who laugh at another's pain.
    spot on guys...

Beckham has a real passion for the England NT, and did what he had to to be considered (playing football damn near all year long without much of a break...I almost thing that this was inevitable, his body could only take so much)

We all are going to lose out not seeing him lace up the boots in this years WC

Actually it would have been cool if people were not giving a rat's ass about Beckham injury instead of laughing at his pain.

If it wasn't for Seedorf rocket Milan wouldn't have won the Chievo game, the gap hasn't been reduced and the league wouldn't have become exciting once again. This is pretty much summing up the reasons why the refs have been helping Milan throughout the season, isn't it? Wasn't it enough for the ref to gift them a penalty kick when Pippo dived?

Mourinho is right, refs are relatively anti-Inter this season comparing to the past few seasons. If they don't let Inter score handball goals and three meter offside goals it means that they are anti-Inter and I agree with that.

Every big team gets a little ref help, isn't it what you were saying to me?
This year Inter got 5 penalties for and 7 penalties against them. They got whooping 7 red cards (not counting the coach's red cards, only the players) while their opponents got 4 (on their matches against Inter).

Now, just by looking at the numbers one could say that perhaps all these calls (penalties +red cards) were justified. Some of them indeed were. As someone who watched most of Inter's matches, I know that some of these calls weren't.
But the bare fact that Inter got more calls (pen. +red cards) against them than in their favor excludes the ref help "all the big teams get" argument.

Milan got 8 penalties in their favor and only 2 penalties against them. Even without checking at all, I can tell you that at least 4 of these were dives, phantom penalties or very soft penalties. I remember offside goals they scored and clear goals not given against them.

Why are you using past seasons? Shall Juve be punished right now for the help we got in Moggi's time?
Hell, even last year Milan got more ref help than anyone else. We even had a thread about it in this forum.
Only this year should count and you're really biased if you don't see that the refs threat Inter and Milan differently.

It would be such a sweet summer if Inter lost scudetto because of the refs helping Milan, I'd really enjoy to see Milan fans trying to justify their case and Inter fans whining about being robbed.
