FFS COME OOOOOOOOOON. Ciro's stint has been THE WORST coaching I ever seen, Ranieri's blatant mediocrity is Rinus Michel standard compared to Ciro's.
Well, maybe so, but I do think if Del Piero wasn't there to save our ass time and time again, we'd probably be in the same area of the table we are in now with Ranieri at the helm. We might not have looked as clueless as we do now, but folks do forget that we did look like quite a pathetic team back then, too. Without Ale's game savers we probably wouldn't have made the top 4.

Ranieri and Mazzarri agree on ref
Sunday 28 February, 2010
Claudio Ranieri and Walter Mazzarri both tried to play down the role of the referee in a thrilling 2-2 draw.

Napoli fought back from 2-0 down to equalise with a controversial penalty for Philippe Mexes' handling offence in stoppages.

I have to accept everything the referee does,” said Roma boss Ranieri.

“Evidently he didn't see the incident very well, but there's no need to cry wolf because of that. It is a very difficult job, that of the referee.

“I think the official did very well overall, it's just a shame because we were taking home a difficult victory. We had been able to quieten down Napoli's football style.”

Roma are now seven points off the leaders and three behind Milan, who they face next week.

“Inter are running their own individual race and only Milan can perhaps dream of the Scudetto,” insisted Ranieri. “Roma are having a good season.”

Napoli also had issues with the referee after Roma broke the deadlock with a Julio Baptista spot-kick and Fabio Quagliarella had a strong shout rejected.

“I agree with Ranieri that we should not talk about the referee,” said Mazzarri.

“We are in the final strait of the season and must collaborate with the officials, working as Coaches and not pundits.

“I think that in terms of performance, Napoli lost two points today rather than earned one. German Denis had at least three scoring opportunities when he came off the bench.”

Football-Italia

This is Ranieri response after the controversial equaliser against Napoli. It would be different if this thing happen to Mourinho. I don't know what to say. Ranieri is just too nice person. Or some people can say that he has loser mentality too (by saying the championship race is between Inter-Milan - or this just to make the players more enjoy in the game).. Ranieri is just too nice, and nice person sometimes become a victim in this real 'cruel' world

Weak

Without Ale's game savers he's 3rd in serie A with Roma, only 7 points behind Inter, after he started with -6 when he joined Roma.

And nice way to completely downplay Trezeguet's 21 goals in 2007/08, Sissoko's monster performances, Camo's top assists, Chiellini's defending, Buffon's great saves, Amauri's great half of the season, Iaquinta's winning goals etc.
Even when DP wasn't scoring, assisting, or even playing, we managed to beat Inter away, Roma 1:4 away, to murder Milan.

You can do that about every single team. I wonder how good will Guardiola be without Messi, how good was Mourinho gonna do in serie A without Zlatan last year or Milito this year, how successful was Ancelotti gonna be without Kaka or Shevchenko.

On the other hand, I can't help wondering if Ranieri was gonna win us the league if we didn't have 7 players injured on average every single round.

Ranieri was winning matches with and without Del Piero. Ferrara was losing like crazy with and without Del Piero.
Even more WITH Del Piero.
