Chiellini is a good LB. I think many of you have forgotten. He can cross better than many of our players. It is far from crazy -- or suggesting Buffon in attack.

It's not like the likes of Maldini, etc., never alternated between fullback and center and did so well.
Buffon didn't start his career as a goalie... he was striker or something like this so lets just move him back there as we currently lack strikers.

And before I forget...

Chiellini is a CB.

I'm not saying he is a bad Lb, but taking him out of the center and putting Legro in is madness!

Don't you think that Buffon is a better striker than a goalie?

Even if you think so it won't make you sound crazier than you are already.
Funny, really funny. Typical arab mentality, if you don't agree with the other opinion we start calling names and claiming this and that. I think you need to chill. You don't agree with me, i respect that. Doesn't mean anything to me and couldn't careless what other think
How about you say something, instead of throwing those face left and right.
You too, chill out. It just an opinion. I get it you think it's crazy. Who cares

I have said many things and I remain chilled out, Chiellini is a fine Lb, its fielding Legro in the center when Chiello is available that I have problem with

And playing Grosso at LB isn't madness?

I'm confused.

Chiellini played for years at LB and did so well. Call him a CB as much as you want, but some players are better than typecasting. That's how Chiellini became a CB to begin with: out of necessity.

One of our best players five years ago, IMO, was Zambrotta -- not so much for his individual play in one position, but because of injuries and weaknesses he could fill LB, RB, and LM as the team needed him to. It made the difference between winning and losing for us sometimes. In the end, it's not about individual performances but team performance.

Anyone who thinks Chiellini should never be anything but a CB is selling out the team performance for individual glory.

Chiellini should only be switched out wide if there is serious concern out there. But there isn't, we just need to have someone who isn't going to do something horrible once or twice a game.

Swagster, if Chiellini will play LB he will have to go forward more often. So it will harm the defense. And, if you say, he can stay put, we wont have any left offense.

Grosso is not bad enough to take Chiello out of defense, in fact despite his defensive lapses he is quite good offensively.
HE DID PLAY HIM ON THE LEFT ONE MATCH ( actually one half) EARLY IN THE SEASON. He did great. Got legro in for dc, and moved giorgio to LB
I know, I have seen all of Juve's matches this season and I still would not take Chiello out of the center. For the tenth time, I never said Chiello is a bad LB so chill yourself out

Do you always generalize that easily?

OK, I think your opinion is a pure madness and you have the right to think the same of mine, fine?

Wait, you want Chiellini also at LB?
I was talking about Del piero and the formation he should play.

As for Chiellini, I would use him in the left, he will be great there, but I would do that only if we had someone as good as him to play next to Cannavaro in the center, which is hard at the moment.

Looking at our recent matches, I think our central defense situation has room to give. Not that I have ultimate confidence in Legro at all, but throw on Momo, etc., and I think we've got our central defense fairly covered with Canna back there.

But our wingback situation, defensively, is a disaster. I have zero confidence that this club can defend a lead if we face any good wingers who try to break down our defense. It's the weakness that Napoli completely exploited.

If we're up by a goal against a CL opponent with a decent right winger, I think we absolutely have to consider a tactical change as long as we're fairly comfortable with our central defense in the match. It's like we've got a 20-meter castle wall in the center, but a three foot fence on the flanks. That makes defending the center particularly pointless.
