No doubt about it, but I'm just saying he misses too many chances for my liking.
Meh, I'll settle for 30 goals.

Either way Zlatan is a huge risk for Barcelona. It made sense for Real to buy Kaka and Ronaldo (even though the money involved is a wee bit sickening), because they have always promoted themselves as Galacticos and they were really starting to die, but Barcelona are on top and don't need to take any chances IMO.

To an extent thats true Andy. He does miss plenty of chances, but he's still a top striker. Maybe not the best striker in the world like he's made out to be by La Liga enthusiasts. But a top striker nonetheless. So Imo Seven's point stands about Barca mistreating and underestimating Etoo in previous years.

I agree. So a move for Zlatan would be bad for both. I'm for it.
This mercato can be very good for us. Milan is weaker. Man U is weaker. And Real still aren't gonna win shit. inter could be a whole lot weaker, while Barca wouldn't be getting anystonger from that move.

Nah, Henry's way classier than Zlatan. It was always going to work. I even thought it worked in Henry's first season. But Zlatan.. no, it'll go wrong.
What I dont understand is if Zlatan wants to win the golden ball why join Barca? He should stay at Inter cuz if they ever do win the CL he can automatically win the Goldenball and be recognized as "the best". With Mourinho at the helm they will always have a good team and be competitive. But by going to a team like Barca he has to compete with his own team mates to be labeled the best and unless he scores like 40 goals I think Messi will always get the nod as he is a more likeable player to watch and has incredible technical skills. Then there is also Xavi and Iniesta.

He should just stay at Inter and hope they can get it right in the CL before he is old.

I'm not sure how much he was mistreated. If Barca wants to find someone better, which Zlatan is, then they have a right to look around.

Hey, I'm all for it too :D

That's very true.

They have the right to look around, but they've been trying to get rid of him for years now. It's sad.

I was thinking about how can Serie A get back on top again (Galliani inspired me :D ) and the solution is very easy in theory.

Galliani said (comparing serie A with La Liga) : "This is a matter of different types of taxation. If we were a Spanish club, we would've saved 40m EUR."

He is right.
In Italy the net wages the players are getting are only 50% of the total amount the club is paying. In Spain the net wages present 75% of the total amount.
If Zlatan earns 12m eur net wages it means that Inter have to pay 24m for his wages. Barca would have to pay 16m eur in order Zlatan to earn 12m eur. Huge difference.
As for what Galliani said.... Milan are paying 60m eur for the net wages of their players. When you add the taxes it turns out that Milan pay 120m eur a year on wages. In Spain, if the team pays 60m eur for the net wages, they'll have to pay 80m eur total. That's a 40m eur difference, while the players are getting the same wages.
40m eur difference only in one year!!
So, if the Italians pay the same taxes as the Spanish, Inter, Juve and Milan will "earn" around 40m eur a year, money that will be used for transfers (+ the money that are already there in the transfer budget).

The second condition is owning the stadiums. Juve are doing it and it will earn us a loooot of money. If the other big teams do the same and if the taxation in Italy is changed, then i believe that every big team in Italy will make between 60-80 million euro profit more per year than they are making now.

Galliani's been saying this all the time but it rarely provokes discussions and i'm yet to hear that someone is doing something about this.

so would it be safe to assume that the suits want to keep the taxtation structure the same while the owners would like to change it?

the suits as in the government? I would think so...there is no bigger moneyspinner in Italy than Calcio, right

would also like to ask Alen was the Italian Premier League we were hearing about created to counter this situation? will it have any impact?

I really can't see how possibly in current situation Italian goverment can let the taxes go lower. Unless the situation in Italy is past the highest point which i really doubt :)

Berlusconi doesn't have the power to change laws, he can put in a request for a change or put in a new law all together but it is the parliament who decide on a new or changed law
offcourse his party also has a say in there as well but he will have to find a majority and I don't know if it will look good in these times of crisis to lower taxes for highly paid professional football players
