The media brainwashed you :disagree:

Think of one single situation where Zanetti was owned. I can think right now of 10 situations where Maldini was owned.
That is a silly and stupid way to argue. Very childish and clearly shows your baism.

You are right in two things though, Baresi > Maldini purely defensively, and Old mid 30s Zanetti defenitely better then the Maldini of same age, though mainly due to physicality ofcourse, Zanetti is a fucking machine. But overall in their careers, its Maldini.

Maldini on the ball is more threat and just better going forward. you never see Zanetti that much on the end of Inter's attack.
Those runs that Maldini use to do on the left side during the 90's were just fapping worthy. I wouldn't consider Zanetti a threat on the other end of the pitch.

Now, I know when I'm biased and I'm not. I'm convinced that Zanetti was overall a better player.
The guy was a winner of almost every single duel in his career. Playing for Inter all these years robbed him of the fame he'd have had as an all time best.

Christ, even Italian legends who are in the FIFA team of the century can't match up on this forum

Bayern huffed and puffed a lot in this game, but their game plan (pass to Robben) became predictable and Mourinho sorted it with Zanetti. Inter didn't offer much in terms of viewing pleasure but I didn't really expect them to, they are extremely solid and Milito is pure class at the other end.

That I agree with, especially last sentence (even if he had way too many years where he was merely solid and unspectacular). But in essence, its not to the degree of being superior to Maldini.
