Mourinho throws 8 defensive-minded players and Samuel Eto'o out on the field and it's labelled as "tactical brilliance". Replace Mourinho with a crusty Italian and it's called "typical old-school Italian football".

Mourinho has won it for Inter with his tactical/psychological approach but his celebrations showed how clownish he is :sergio:

I think Inter are better as a team than Bayern and they'll win it at the end IMO. Let's just hope Robben and co. can upset them.

The ridiculous thing is that it is even called "typical old-school italian football" right now on some other forum I'm on by some morons.

They were 10 men and in the first game in San Siro they owned Barcelona with an amazing football. They kind of deserved to play ultra defensive football.

True, there is hypocrisy in that.

But you're still playing with fire doing that against Barca. If the ref wasn't right there to blow the whistle on Toure's handball Inter wouldn't be going through, and we'd hear far more people blasting Mourinho for trying to sit back the whole match.

No matter who plays it, IMO it is pussy football.

Give me any coach who would do things differently away to Barca, having a 3-1 lead playing with 10 men.

That's not oldschool Italian football, that's surviving. Mourinho set his team up brilliantly in the first leg and defensively things were really well organized this game aswell.

Also, Barca were simply too slow to really create anything, we've seen Barca do far better at home, it's not just because of Inter.
