Sneijder out against Barca :D

Sneijder thigh strain confirmed

Sunday 25 April, 2010
Terrible news for Inter, as the test on Wesley Sneijder showed a thigh strain that is likely to rule him out of the trip to Barcelona.

The Dutchman limped off at half-time during Saturday's 3-1 win over Atalanta with a muscular problem.

Today he underwent medical tests and the results were far from reassuring.

“As planned, this afternoon the Inter medical staff conducted a series of tests on Sneijder,” read a statement on the club website.

“The results showed a strain in the left thigh muscle.”

Although there is no word on how long this will keep him out for, it is not a small injury and recovery for Wednesday is extremely difficult.

The Nerazzurri have a 3-1 first leg lead from their Champions League semi-final over Barcelona.

The Spaniards are preparing for the big game with specially-made T-Shirts they wore after last night's 3-1 Liga victory over Xerez.

'Barcelona-Inter, we'll make it tough. Everyone at the Camp Nou for the fightback.'

I think this is just mind games by Mourinho

I'm supporting Inter because it benefits serie a, if they didn't I wouldn't care so long as their not playing a premirship team

Do you reckon he'll change shape because of the injury or keep the same shape and play Stankovic in Sneijder's position?
The second one, he used to play Stankovic in that role last season and this season when Sneider wasn't available. He'll never change a winning formation, not now anyway.

If he won't change formation then it's better if it's Pandev in Sneijder's place and Stankovic in Pandev's place.

P.S: But lets not forget about the CL mind games. They happen often in these late stages. If Wayne Rooney played against Bayern, it won't surprise me a bit if Sneijder plays the entire 90 minutes in Barcelona.

Oh, then they're in trouble :D

I guess Mourinho will have to go with a different formation if Sneijder won't make it. I'm guessing a 4-3-3 or 4-3-2-1/4-3-1-2, with three DMs in midfield.
