not only did it decrease the effect of the fullbacks of chelsea, but it really showed how good these two fullbacks really are.

if you did not get it ... i was being sarcastic. both did not provide anything to the attack but STILL left gaping wholes behind them ... it was pretty caceres'esque ^^

funny how high those both guys were rated, when we were supposedly after them ...

i'll say it again ... a fullback has to be a defender first and then an attacker and not some bosingwa'esque athleted that only knows how to run and cross but goes chickedhead in defense (if he even shows up there)

but thats just my opinion
Please don't tell me you judge a player by one match? Funny thing people keep their mouth shut when certain players preform for over a year.

Did you see a great game?
I saw a snidey, messy, scrappy game between two teams of little real class.
As a manager- or even a fan- of any other team remaining, I would be more than pleased to be drawn against Inter. Mind Mouriniho has created another dirty and cynical team in his own mode.

Being snide, dirty and scrappy wins you matches in todays increasingly physical game.

No offence mate, but I doubt your midfield would be able to handle the physical aspect of theirs.

Understandable stance.

Though we do tend to do well against Italian teams, and i would say we have toughened up quite a bit this season with Diaby and Song holding their own in midfield. I'd be more scared of our naive attacking approach and their counterattacks, than the battle in midfield to be honest.

i dont judge players by only one game BUT i dare to say "if you are a good fullback, you wont leave those holes in the back". it is some basic tactic awareness you got which is form independent. i can totally understand when you are not in the best form and you are not able to bypass an opponent while attacking. suddenly forgetting where to be on the field while in defense is a totally other matter to me.

its no one vs. one situation where a better player might get the better of you.

its a situation where you just have to be where you gotta be. no word said about stopping some christiano ronaldo going past you. but if you are not even in the right spot at the right time you have already lost and can not even try to defend.

i really think defensive positioning is not form-dependent. either you have it or you don't.. its a daily routine ... situations that arise in every match played ... you can not forget or unlearn that because you are in bad shape or have no stamina.
