Add Lucio in the mixture. Chelsea stood no chances to score with that guy in Inter's defense.

I seriously don't know why Andy doesn't rate him. He can make an occasional mistake in a league match against minors, but whenever he plays an important match, he's a beast and a typical leader of a defensive line.
Tonight he was a carbon copy of Jürgen Kohler at his peak.

Snider is just amazing. I think he became freeier after the ballack sub.

Shouldn't Diego have a similar role? He should throw in those killing touches all the time rather than holding the ball. I am not bashing diego at all. Just thinking out loud.

Credit to JCK, he was right about the Stamford pitch being ideal for Mourinho's defensive plans, Inter did a brilliant job tonight putting his ideas to work on the pitch.

The fans are complete rubbish, they give up on the team when things aren't going exactly as planned

This is how you make deals: A piece of stick for Eto'o + 40 mil which means that you are also going to buy Sneijder. Sneijder makes an assist and Eto'o scores the winner to bring you to the quarters. Well done Moratti
That doesn't make up for the hundreds of millions spent/lost on flop players & coaches.

What about the match in Milano? Just as great performance. Inter would have qualified with or without a goal tonight. Simply because Lucio was never gonna allow Chelsea score. After Mourinho, Lucio is the one who should take the biggest credit for Inter playing in the quarters.

    Without wanting to sound premature...

Who else agrees that Sneijder is the best transfer of the season in Europe so far?
It's hard to say... Ronaldo isn't exactly doing that bad at Madrid, and I'm sure there's a few others. Sneijder is the type of player Inter needed after selling Ibra, someone to create behind the strikers, and a damnnnnn good one.

He put Inter's strikers 1 on 1 with Chelsea's goalie numerous times. Great vision and he can execute his ideas with both feet. Who can do that?

was adding to your point, not contradicting it...though I disagree on the 'frustrating' football bit, they genuinely showed some good football today.
Well, if you ask me, frustrating football is good football. And frustration does not necessarily have to come from ultra defensive tactics but from smart defnese with slick movement of the ball.

Inter played bad only in 10 minutes in the first half and they only needed Mourinho to change their mistakes.

No not at all, Chelsea played defensive football last year. They were extremely far from playing the frustrating football I am talking about. Watch the games again and compare them to the encounter between Chelsea and Barcelona last season. Totally different tactics.
defensive but they got the semi's and if obrevo didn't existed they would've played the final..again. I see inter the same..defensive and hit on the counter.

If you only stop from saying how bad Chelsea were and focus on how good Inter were I will continue discussing with you.
i admit that inter was better and mourinho had some balls to play with a 4-3-3 tonight (i also admit that the referee is blind, i can't believe he didn't gave that penalty when samuel body checked drogba in the box in the first half...this ain't an excuse..just a "honourable mention")
