I heard that this season the first leg of the knock out phase is going to be played over 4 days(2 weeks). Meaning that there are only two games each day. That will be fantastic, we dont have to miss so many good games.

Yup, I saw that Milan plays their serie A match this Friday, I checked uefa.com to see if there is any connection between that and the CL matches and I was pleasantly surprised.

    Tuesday, February 16
    Milan-Manchester United
    Lyon-Real Madrid

    Wednesday, February 17
    Bayern-Fiorentina
    Porto-Arsenal

    Tuesday, February 23
    Stuttgart-Barcelona
    Olympiacos-Bordeaux

    Wednesday, February 24
    Inter-Chelsea
    CSKA-Sevilla

P.S: The second leg will also be played in the same way. 2 matches on March 9, two on March 10, two on March 16 and two on March 17.

Never could understand, why everyone hates madrid?!

I can understand people hating clubs like United because they are one of the most ridicolously overhyped club in england and i myself can't stand them. Chelsea with all that russian money and to me they're a classless club. Barca have been hyped alot recently (with all the messi fiasco) and i could understand people wanting them to fail.

But Madrid, have been failing over and over again for the past 7-8 years and they are (like us) when of european giants that have been under-performing for a pretty long time now.

This season is the first season in a pretty long time that they look like having a decent shot to win something big in europe.

I just have a soft spot for europe's elite who have been struggling recently (ajax, madrid, liverpool) not that am a fan but i'd rather see these clubs winning than these other new "so called" giants of europe.

    Sympathy pains?

Dunno why should one feel bad just because they have a bad run like us. I never liked Real. I don't see it to be a passionate club like it was 10 years ago or something. Now they are just a bunch of people buying fashion models.

Their strategy is marketing, not football.

I'd cheer for Man U any day against Madrid. I want Madrid to fail because they are the most money manufactured team in history.

We are nothing like Madrid becausen we don't go all glactico or shit like that. I hate their constant courtships of playeers and how they badger clubs into letting the players go, if anything Iactually hate the schuster era more than todays, calderon and his constant irritation about Ronaldo just cheesed me off and then Schuster had to collect every Dutch player known to man which was even more annoying.

Pleasant surprise indeed. It was inevitable though, wasn't it? I mean this way UEFA would get more viewers which would equal more money.

Great, looking forward to watch those. I'd pick

    Milan - Manure
    Porto - Arsenal
    Stuttgart - Barca
    Inter - Chelsea
    Same here

Great news, twice as much top-quality football. Madrid is entertaining club, many great players there, I'm not a fan, but it surely is a pleasure to watch them time after time. I don't think one could truly hate the club, as they have some classy players in Raul, Diarra's, Kaka, Dudek :)D) and Benzema.

Will Pato be back against United? and seriousy I would not play Beckham, the guy is coming out with all sorts of crap at the moment. You just have to wonder whose side he would be on.
