Yeah seems to me that EPL teams not named Manchester United and Arsenal tend to get harder draws than anyone.

You can't really defend teams like Inter who couldn't beat Panathanaikos last year and struggled again this year when they get a crap draw in the round of 16.
My point was that their conspiracy theory is BS.

Inter usually get easy group stages and they twice got easy teams in the last 16 stage. Their group stage this year was shared by barca so no favoritism there too.

Madrid shared the group stage with us and this year they shared it with Milan.

We have examples of top English teams against top Italians (Chelsea VS Juve/Inter) and we also have examples of top spanish teams against top english (Pool Vs Madrid) teams. We also have examples of top Italian teams facing mediocre spanish ones (Inter VS valencia/Villareal).

Also bear in mind that Pool was not performing well in the league during the year they faced the Italian Champions Inter. (Inter should have been favorites).

Its random... barca and arsenal seem to get mediocre teams more often than others. Inter had mixed luck over the years.

If Italian teams are constantly failing to qualify to the later stages then this is because they suck in comparison to the english and the spanish

I'm NOT SAYING that uefa are fixing the draws to get the italians out

Im saying there fixing it to make the last 16 more interesting.

The fact that the same things has been happening for the last 3 years indicates to me that there is some suspicious behavior going on

I don't think 7 words or less put up the :sergio: smilie because Stephan predicted that Man United have a much higher percentage to go thru; it's more about the actual accuracy of the percentages. Stephan said 65/45 in favour of Man United; 65 and 45 add up to 110, and not 100 :p

I think its the other way around really.

- Bayern with Ribery + Robben fit would be tough against any top team let alone fiorentina. Fiorentina needs to be "perfect" in both games to pass bayern (which is pretty doubtfull).

- Inter will be Fucked big time against Chelsea. Not because chelsea are superior this season but because Inter are the biggest joke in europe. Watch how Inter will try to defend in san siro + gets raped in london.

- Milan's defence and specially their fullbacks will have a pretty tough times against United's wingers. United will get through but it won't be so easy.....

Inter-Chelsea will be interesting also because the two coaches know a lot about the other team, and about each other, which rarely happens at these early stages of the knock-outs.

On one side you have Mourinho who knows the majority of Chelsea players and coached them for 2-3 years. He knows their strengths and their weaknesses, both the individual strengths and weaknesses and the team ones.
On the other side is Ancelotti, who encountered Inter tens of times in his career, who is the only coach in serie A who beat Inter twice in the last two seasons, who knows Italian football and knows Inter's strengths and weaknesses.

It's a big possibility that due to the coaching influence both teams will cancel each other which might make a boring match for the neutrals. But I hope and believe that these will be two great matches.

    Chelsea will win.

Inter have the better 'keeper and defence, but Chelsea have a ridiculously good midfield and attack.

If both teams are more or less fully fit, Chelsea wins this tie about 75% of the time.

There should be some great individual battles on the pitch as well. Maicon v Ashley Cole springs to mind.

was anyone else as pissed off as I was watching the second round CL draw ??

this season is the biggest joke ever, even worse that Serie B a few years back (that team would beat this one)

Viola will show us how its done against Bayern, while Milan and Inter have some rough waters ahead

Inter out, Milan may surprise us
