Inter doesn't even know how to cheer. After both Milito goals only a few players came towards him to celebrate. Even after the match when they showed their idiot fans, they hardly put any effort to party on the stands.

Interesting how I said hundreds of times that Baresi is the best CB I've ever seen, that the Milan of the late 80's and early-mid 90's, as well as Carlo's Milan of 2004 and 2005 were some of the best teams I've ever seen, but lets ignore that.

History rewards winners, Alen. Even if there's no objective way to measure who might have been the best defender that has ever lived, trophies do insinuate that at the very least he played for a good team and given the fact that a team consists of players he was probably a good player. It's as close as you can get to objectivity I'm afraid.

History, FIFA etc can see him as the best defender ever as much as they want. I watched him and I watched other defenders and to me he isn't the best. I don't need FIFA or UEFA to tell me things I've seen with my own eyes. Hell, UEFA thought that Del Piero is one of the best 10 players of the year only twice throughout his career. Should I listen to them?
If you watched football in the last 20 years and if you really think that Maldini is the best one you've seen, then I will disagree but accept your opinion. I have problems when 18 year olds convince me that Maldini was the best defender they've seen and I know that all they remember of Maldini is a slow CB.

I'm not saying he was the best. I'm saying that you can't completely dismiss trophies as an indicator of greatness. If one wins a lot of trophies that implies he must have been doing something right. Does it mean he was the best ever? No. But it does mean he was probably very very good and in nine cases out of ten he's better than the guy who won less.

But if we use his trophies as an indicator, Costacurta must be there next to him too.
And I see no flaws in my argument. I said that among 5-6 equals, or almost equally good defenders, the trophies he won made him the best in the eyes of many, which imo, he wasn't, and I've seen defenders better than him only in the last 20 years.
So I ask, in what way was Maldini better defender than Zanetti. What are Zanetti's flaws that Maldini doesn't have?
