Barca destroyed Inter without Messi. I don't think Inter stand a big chance against the teams of Manchester and Barca caliber whether Rooney and Messi are playing or not. Inter are a great team and I'd never use the term choker for them. They are probably the hardest teams to defeat but how much they can go through in these competitions depends hugely on the team they are going to face in the next round.
The lineup that played tonight was not the one that met Barcelona and if these guys stay fit (or if Mourinho saves them for CL games) they can defeat Barcelona and Manchester combined.

Good points, but they are not great: Arse can beat them.

all the teams mark rooney or messi man to man i'm sure of it...do you think if i were the coach at valencia or milan i wouldn't tell a defenseman to be their shadow?.. They can't be stopped this season :p..
surly inter have a better defence and defensive midfield....
i just don't see messi do his flicks and stuff to get past lucio or samuel....

Barcelona have not made the quarter finals yet by the way.

But out of the teams that have already made it, do you know who in my opinion is the team that would cause most trouble to Inter?

Yes, Arsenal.

Inter outclassed Chelsea in every department today. Every player had a clear defined role out there today, each and every one of them knew exactly what his role was and executed it to perfection. Maicon was a beast defensively today, and showed the world why he's a much better fullback than the admittedly world class D.Alves, Lucio and especially Samuel were both monsters in defense, and Sneider was just a class apart from Chelsea's midfield.

I thought Chelsea were just clueless with the ball and resorted too much too long ball football, which was always going to be hard when Inter have Lucio and Samuel in defense. Chelsea's fullbacks were caught out of position a number of times too, i lost count tbh.

Mourinho despite my hate for him showed what a world class manager he is.

the bigger the better..i didn't thought i'm gonna see the day in which a "midget" like rooney would score 3 out of 4 with his head in a double with milan..

    Absolutely.

But we must have in consideration that the Inter of 2009/10 is a very different team from last year's teams. Many new names for a start. Mourinho had an idea how he likes his team to look and how he likes his team to play IN EUROPE. During the first months of the season the team was still learning. And I mean it literally. They were learning. With time passing and with every next match they're finally understanding what Mourinho wants and they're doing it from theory to practice. Barca will, imo, still be a favorite against Inter and I'll still give them more chances to win, but I'm 100% sure that if Inter play Barca in the next rounds, they'll play a much better football than they did in September-November.

Let's see Rooney scoring headers against a Lucio - Samuel partnership. With all respect to Rooney's form this season.
