Out-Barca Barca, you sire may just be on to something
Not really out Barca-ing them, because that would mean wasting a lot of chances. We'd need to take our chances. The key would be keeping their fullbacks pushed back because that is where their support comes from, and with regard to Messi we just have to hope Sissoko and Grosso can handle him. I'd run the 4-2-3-1 with Melo and Sissoko centrally.

They could go 4-5-1 on us though, use Pedro and Messi with Ibra, Toure, Xavi and Iniesta.

I'd shit myself.
Same thing, really. Either way Messi and probably Iniesta will be on the wings, and if we send midfielders in there to support, then that will give space to Xavi centrally.

Teams just have to find a way to outscore them. That's the only way.

Is Inter officially out now? I'm just waiting for all the articles with comments from Moratti and Mourinho falling all over themselves.

And all the while, Roberto Mancini looks on with an "I told you so" grin

So I'm guessing you want a new manager. Who do you think would be pool's best option and also keeping in mind the January transfer window how do you think Pool can save their season?
I don't want a new manager. In a perfect world Rafa would have an epiphany, change his disposition, tactics, and transfer policy. Then lead Pool to a top for finish this season and the Treb next year and the history books would write about this turn around as the most important season in Liverpool history. But alas the world is not perfect.

Rafa's contract states that we only have to pay his contract out while he is unemployed (if sacked). If he resigns, he's on his own. Regardless of whether we sack him now or in January I fully expect Madrid to have his phone ringing off the hook.

Personally I would sell degen, voronin, and babel. Those three are dead weight on the squad. I'd play a 4-4-2 or a 4-3-3 rather than the 4-2-3-1 that hardly works anymore. I'd also think about selling Mascherano if the price was right. Honestly, I'm just thinking about the players we have currently and not taking into account a particular coach.

Nobody has really mentioned Fiorentina getting to the knockout stages.

Congrats, guys.

At least this team has a classy coach, soon to be followed by Ciro and Leonardo, hopefully.

In this respect I sm but a pleb.

But Liverpool, to my mind, are perfect for interested parties who want to create a brand sport for their land.
That I agree on. It's something the Americans have failed to do. Chelsea, Manchester, Milan, Inter, Madrid, Barca, and Juventus all have more stature in the states than Liverpool.

That's why we have to beat them at their own game, going for the win. Pressure them, keep the ball and attack attack attack. Sitting back with two lines of four would get us raped even more because we wouldn't even score.
Liverpool beat them a couple seasons ago by keeping the battle in the midfield and using Sissoko to slug it out.
