And i bet that Milan will go back to sucking hard in serie A sooner rather than later.

One match, when you're the outsider and play with 100% motivation, and also give more than 100% of yourself, can get you the win. But Milan, even if they have the names and the talent, don't have the consistency, don't have the required motivation or fitness. Soon you will see them play as amateurs against Bologna or Bari and lose at home.

Yeah, right.

Barca, Real, Sevilla....Inter, Juve, Milan

So is Valencia with Villa, Matta and Silva worse than Fiorentina. Is Atletico (they're in poor form though) worse than Roma (also in poor form)?
Is Villareal, that made it to the 1/4 in CL last year and destroyed us 1:4 in a friendly, worse than Genoa?

I don't know the other La Liga teams well, i've seen some of them this season, but i've seen quality displays from La Coruna, Mallorca etc and i seriously doubt that they're worse than the Italian mid-table teams.

quite confidently

ac milan >>> seville

roma >>> atheletico madrid

Seville are about as good as fiorentina IMO

I still stand by my opinion that Serie A is a stronger league (overall) then La Liga.
easily

fact of the matter the only non english teams in the final in the past 5 years have been ac milan and barceloa. But the bbc is easy to forgive la liga, but show no mercy to serie a. Even if epl destroy the spanish teams just as equally

Alen, the UEFA ratings watch update please.
Last 5 seasons (including this one):

    1 England 70.999 pts
    2 Spain 68.329 pts
    3 Italy 55.195 pts
    4 Germany 51.874 pts
    5 France 45.073 pts
    6 Russia 40.458 pts

This year the Italians are doing solid and they won more points than the Germans. Italian clubs won 6.285 pts this year while the Germans 5.750 points.

No matter how much I dislike Milan, I still would prefer them to win over any Spanish/English opposition. It really should have been 4-2. I wish we could have put a couple of more goals past Maccabi this morning. Nonetheless, a good round of results for Italian teams.

To say Seville are much stronger then they are is absurb and false. Especially in European competition.

To all those complaining about Milan's disallowed goal, don't forget the ref didn't give Real a clear cut penalty in the start of the game.

So why did you compare Roma to Athletic Bilbao?

Roma are a traditional top 6 in Italy while Athletic almost got relegated last year.

And let me offer a bet for you. I say that Sevilla will finish in La Liga higher than Milan in serie A AND that Sevilla will make it at least to the quarters in CL while Milan won't even make the quarters.
If one of these two won't happen then I lose and you win the bet.

    Accept?

What a second half performance by Milan

Pato, Seedorf and Pirlo were the protagonists of Milan's win. While Real showed they can't function as a team, they're all about the individuals. That is good enough to beat the small teams(you have to admit they're pretty efficient at that) in La Liga, and thats what matters in the league, to beat the small teams, so they have a chance at winning the league. But they definitely won't go far in the CL.

Nesta was brilliant in defense too today, world class defender
Exactly what I think. They are not really a favourite for CL, imo. Only Barca and Chelsea standout as favourites for me with Man U as an outside favourite. Only with luck of the draw, injuries and suspensions, good form, etc. I see teams like Real, inter, Arsenal, Pool, maybe even Juve have a chance.

Sorry, you meant Madrid, not Bilbao.

And currently Roma aren't really better than Madrid. Both suck.

I couldn't care, that bet doesnt mean anything, no offence. In the past 2 years serie a teams were instantly drawn with english teams. La liga teams where given an easy ride, but when they did play them they were detroyed.

arsenal koed a injury plauged roma on pens, but destroyed villreal 3 - 0.
la liga is the most over rated league in the world, and hasn't been the same since 2005.

    FACT

    last 3 years

    roma
    juve
    ac milan

all beat real in their pitch

let me get this straight ?

you claim seville have a better pedigree that than ac milan in the cl ?

    Q. Who is the best goalkeeper in Europe?

Ruud "unbiased" Gullit - 'Van der Saar'

    Q. Are there any top top goalkeepers in Europe right now?

All three of Gullit, Jamie Redknapp and Andy Gray look around deep in thought for a few seconds. 'I'm glad there's not!'

Daaamn guys. This is embarrassing. They don't even know Julio Cesar's name.

Actually when we played Roma we were plagued by injuries too. When we played Villareal however, most of our injured players returned.
