Because Miccoli didn't want to stay. Something which is understandable seeing as he would have to compete with the club icon and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. I doubt Miccoli is right for Juventus anyway: he's big in a small team, but small in a big team. He hasn't got Del Piero's class nor skill and fysically he's not really impressive. Miccoli is a good player, no doubt, but he isn't world class and thus is never going to be Juve's leading man.
I don't think your way...

I think he wanted to stay, but he didn't get any faith. Read this: http://www.newsnow.co.uk/newsfeed/?...talian+Football

He also wasn't bad at Juve, but under Lippi he didn't get many chances to play. And when he played I saw a great Miccoli!! In my view he has the same skills as Del Piero...

Oh come on, he's had one season, and it was the worst season that we've had in years for any player to prove himself. I agree that he would've had trouble competing with Zlatan and Del Piero, but to make a judgment of him based on last season is unfair IMO, same goes for Appiah and Legrottaglie.
Perhaps, but I just can't see Miccoli succeeding in a big club. He's just one of those players that can't fulfill their potential IMO. He is 23 (or 24) and he's not as good as Del Piero when he was 23 so he's not world class material yet. And I find it strange for a player that is always dubbed to be so greatly not to be world class at 23.

Fair enough, but let's say he finally gets consistent chances to play and continues to improve, while Del Piero's form keeps fluctuating as it has been for the past 6 odd years... do you not think Miccoli will end up being the more effective player? He may not have flashy moves or superstar status, but I think he could well go on to be something big

Actually I think he has flashy moves :D. I really like to see Miccoli play, but I just believe he's a normal football player and nothing very special. That said Nedved isn't that special either if you just look at his moves and stuff, nonetheless he's been the best midfielder in the world for 2 seasons.

Well Del Piero was a superstar at Miccoli's age, he was among the best in the world. Del Piero has furfilled his potential already a long time ago, its just that injuries is and has held him back.

Miccoli has the same potential, he is excellent, but he has no future as long as Del Piero is playing. But he'll be back in at Juve in a year or two!....

It's nice to know that you haven't got the "love Del Piero, hate everybody else" attitude that is so prevalent around here.

You made a good point with the Nedved example though; he doesn't look like anything special if you watch him dribble and run around, and I wouldn't call him a classy player, but in terms of effectiveness he's the best in the world. I think the same goes for Miccoli, and even though I wouldn't stake my life on it, I think he'll develop into a better-than-average player

whether they return in a couple of years or not, I just don't think our squad is deep enough to compete on all fronts this season. Prove me wrong boys, prove me wrong...

Enzo, micco and chillini had better have a set fee to pay to get him back...because if not, we may have a problem.....we may end up paying shit loads jus to get them back...

We aint gonna sign anyone in january unless we do soo bad, cappello threatennsto quit unless he get players.

the only good thing about this is olivera is gonna get time and so blasi.....but also volpato (if he is with us this season)...who could play the odd game.

I think we missed the clever buys and jus went for the glory moves (ie cappello, emo, zlatan and canna.)

I think we did reasonable well in the Calcio Mercato and I would give 7.5 to 8 for Moggi (I am a strict on marks though :D).
Signing Zlatan, Emerson, Kapo, Zebina, Cannavaro, and brining back Blasi from loan was good achievement. However, Dominic has some very valid points. Canna deal was a short term move, and we will need new reinforcement next year at the back. Montero, Iluliano, Pessetto, Legro Ferrara can contribute IMO but they will have to be kept fresh and most likely passed their sell on date by next year. Canna has been too impressive last two years and I suspect it is more than just temporary loss of form. Thuram was horrendous at the right back, and I am sure Depor are thankful of some of the mistakes he made for them last year.

I think its better for him to leave and play more often....lets just pray that Micco, Maresca and Chiellini perform well and Moggi will buy another half of their share later;)
exactly... Besides, I'm sure that they'll come back sooner or later...

"Reports suggest that Miccoli is not happy with the move as he wanted to do battle with Alex Del Piero for a first team shirt"

I think he left because this sentence has no sense in Turin.

dude, we are not gonna get all three back, and it will; cost us substantially.
oh come on, Miccoli and Chiellini wanted to leave because they realized that they wouldn't play as much as they wanted... Enzo is the only doubt in my mind... :scared:

Under Lippi, yes, but Capello isn't going to guarantee Del Piero a first team shirt just like that imo.

I think Capello wont take the leaders role away from DP this season. It is Caps first season, he changed nearly the half team, so he needs Alex, who is a reliable captain, who can hold the pieces together.
