Give examples.

But I can't help but think you're just saying this because it's the USA vs. Italy in soccer. Truth be told, you have a lot to do in gaining my respect when it comes to arguments like these. I frankly don't believe you because I know you're a snake.
I like Italy, get over it. And if you really like Juventus, you'll have to like Italy too. Because guess what, Turin is actually IN Italy. You'd have hard time being a Juventus fan if you don't like Italy, Andy.

Serena Williams was the perfect example.

Come on Andy. Try to be objective. There are many great American athletes, but there are also a batch of sore losers who can't accept defeat and confuse it with being competitive. Same thing goes for some of your fans. Please don't tell me you are blind or oblivious to that; I am pretty sure you see it in your everyday life, whether it be in an argument involving baseball, the NHL, the NBA, the NFL, or international sports.
Well, if you're talking about the freaks in the NBA, then yes, I agree. Lots of the douchebags you watch in that league are morons, so I'll admit to that. In the NHL, it's usually not so much the case, but you don't know anything about that league.

As I said, provide examples if you think you're right. I provided my opinion regarding the matter, so why don't you provide us some evidence.

Lots of people here need to get off our dicks, IMO.

Honestly, what do you expect? It's natural for Juventus fans to somewhat like Italy. A lot of them were probably drawn to Juventus because of Italy.

And then you come here, after months of bitching about them supporting Italy, after losing 3-1 with Rossi and De Rossi raping you and you expect them to say: well done Team USA, you deserved to win.

Let's face facts: you lost. There's nothing you can do that's going to change that. I know you wanted to laugh real bad. You've been waiting for weeks. You wanted it so so bad. But it didn't happen.

But I don't need to be Italian to play for Juve. That's the important fact about this whole discussion.

And again, I like Italy. You can't get that into your brain apparently. I've said time and time again that I respect the true Italians and the Juventus players on the Azzurri, but not those from other countries who like them just for the hell of it.

You can't change that, Andries. It's cute that you keep trying, but come on baby, you know you're not getting that ring any time soon.

Because you're a nationalistic fascist fuck you mean? Patriotism was abandoned in most European countries a long time ago. We don't do that flag stuff anymore. We're not like America. We're not insane. It cost us a lot in the past.

For once I agree with Seven. You are being too emotional and lacking objectivity.

I have nothing against America or Americans (don't know where you got that from), and in fact I have a lot of American friends and they agree with me. You can still love your country, but try to be objective about it.

Serena Williams, Shaq (even though I love the guy), Terrel Owens, Barry Bonds, and some of your track and field athletes (can't remember names) definitely fit the bill.

The American track and field athletes are like that, but TBH that's why I like them. They're awesome. Nothing beats an arrogant sprinter who'll make fun of the others. Bolt is even better obviously, because he's so so much better than the rest, but I can't wait for an American to seriously compete with Usain.

Well, we did lose. And I congratulated the Juventus players on the Azzurri and the real Italian fans. But those people from Thailand, Egypt and other far away lands who support the Azzurri will just never gain my respect. I'm sorry, Andries. And until you get that citizenship in Italy, you won't either.

I mean, it's not like I say Italy isn't a great team. Of course they are. But will I say they deserve to beat us even when they don't? Of course not. Will I say we haven't played them well the last few times we met them? Hell no.

The odds are stacked against us either way, both on the pitch and on this forum full of freaks who can't even support their own nation. It's not surprising when we see you and all your other Muslim, central European, and Italian American friends come out to bash us. Of course you will, because the one thing you have in common with those Muslims and Europeans is that you aren't the biggest fan of the US. You're right up there with posters like Vonam who's an Indonesian extremist and Someone who denies the Holocaust.

But in the end, this is all a good thing. It just shows we're all the same people.

That's an extremely horrendous selection you got there. Nobody likes TO, Barry Bonds is a cheater, Shaq is a big moron, but Serena isn't that bad.

But you using this against me and my team today is frankly pathetic, but I don't expect anything more. I honestly don't.

Read these previous pages here. Interesting discussion about who is or isn't allowed to support the Italian NT team .

About the game:
Usa was quite good, I must confess they usually are whenever I watch them.
Lame first half by Italy, decent in the second half.

The red card obviously decided the game in Italy's favour. Otherwise this would have ended a draw imo.

Referee wasn't that great, but not really awful either. Red card was harsh, but not undeserved, penalty was correct. The challenge in the final minutes of the game by Legro was clumsy but definitely not a penalty, people who doubt it should read the rules. The disallowed goal is debatable but the flag was up (and whistle had gone iirc) before the defender touched the ball so a good call by the ref.

I have to add that seeing 5 Juve players in the starting eleven made me smile.

It is not personal Andy, and I am not using it against you or your team. Your response just triggered a response within me; I just recalled similar arguments I have had in the past pertaining to this exact same topic, about Americans pride and passion sometimes being meshed or even mistaken for and confused with over-confidence and arrogance.

Again, I have nothing but respect for people like Pete Sampras, Agassi, Tiger Woods, Manning, Garnett, and the list goes on.

You are a good kid Andy, with a lot of pride, passion, and fire. However, sometimes you go overboard with your reactions. I still like you man

I provided my arguments regarding the match. If that was red for Clark, then Grosso should have been red carded as well for a clear elbow. Both were just as malicious. Camo was offsides because he was interfering with the play, which caused Bornstein to react. If Legro's bodycheck wasn't a PK, fine, but these teams should have been playing both with ten men then.

Even Red said the match was called in Italy's favor.

I don't know what this has to do with our athletes in other sports. Thought we were talking about the match tonight here.

You're losing all sense of reality. And this neonationalistic neofascist nonsense you're trying to spread around here merely to justify the fact that you can't take a loss like a man is sad.

Because it's not about supporting them is it? No, it doesn't stop there. You can't like them either. If Italy play the USA a Belgian can't say he'd like Italy to win. He needs be 100% behind.. Belgium? Bit odd to say the least, dude. Surely I get to decide who and what I like? Or do you have a problem with me liking Lemon Soda too? Because that's Italian you know. And I'm sure there are good Belgian lemonades out there too.

People, in that case, should say 'this is a poor Italy team', not 'Italy is a poor team'.

Anyway, Italy are going through a transitional period where they are trying to figure out how to replace some aging stars and they aren't doing it particularly well.

With Lippi in charge, they will still be a force to be reckoned with at the World Cup.
I agree then. And if i have mentioned that Italy is a poor team, my bad, i meant that this is a poor Italy team.

If you are a fan of Juventus, who is turning into the main Azzurri material team, if you watch Serie A every weak from august till may, then it is nothing wrong if you support Azzurri through the confederation's cup even if you don't have italian pass, and that doesn't make you sorry-ass fan or whatever the description where. And if you don't have that friggin passport it doesn't mean you can't argue about the game. It is strange if people support other country over their own one, but still it's understandable. But i am different case and if i put Forza Italia in my sig for a month, it doesn't mean i won't be in the stadium come September and i won't shout for my latvian guys out there fighting for place in WC2010. Of course im not such fan of Italy as Andy is of USA or Marcello for Italy, but that doesn't mean i can't support them, if they represent not my nation, but many other things i love in football.

Of course. But Andy's a fascist who thinks that you have to scream stuff about your own nation no matter what. Doesn't matter who is playing, he just shouts U-S-A, U-S-A, U-S-A! I find that a bit weird. I also find it a bit weird that this fascist tells people what they can and what they can't like.

What is the difference between Seven and all the other non-Italians being Italy sympathizers (or however you want to put it) and Andy and the other folk who wanted Barca to win the CL because of their 'good football'?
