Lee Chun-soo wins praise for La Liga debut
Spain - DAVID Beckham was not the only player making his league debut in Spain at the weekend.
While the England midfielder was earning plaudits and praise for his part in Real Madrid's 2-1 win over Real Betis, Korea Republic's Lee Chun-soo was also making his first league start with Real Sociedad, who were runners-up to Madrid in last season's Liga.
While Lee did not manage to notch on debut, he certainly made an impact, one which the Spanish media picked up on in their Sunday and Monday editions.
El Mundo Deportivo, a sports paper in Real’s home base of San Sebastian, praised Lee’s "speed and mobility" and for his part in setting up his side's equaliser.
"All credit" for the goal "went to the Korean Lee Chun-soo," said Madrid-based El Mundo, while the club's described their new acquistion as "the creator of so much that secured the draw for Real".
In a scene familiar to fans of the K-League, the winger tore off his shirt to reveal a T-shirt bearing a message for the fans. It read "Korean Football’s Pride", accompanied by the Basque for thank you. The referee showed his appreciation by showing Lee the yellow card.

that robinho guy.. .. he likes have zidanes first touch,ronaldinho feet and verons vision ( and the desire to do classy passes ) ..only his body is quit small-not anything like rooney.. i dunno how he wil perform under serie A tactical strictness he sure would have a hell of a fun at La Liga... and barcelona have always that neck to get such kinda player.

He was the least scored on keeper in the league. That means that at the time, Buffon was scored on more than Edwin was. I don't care what misconceptions and dillusions you have about the Roma game, but niether Edwin's performance, nor the team's performance in that single game caused Juve to lose the league. Besides that, you do have to admitt that the purchase of Buffon was a bit out of the ordiniary considering that Edwin was a top class keeper and we had only recently bought Carini, a very very promising youngster.

Some guys that are rarely mentioned outside Sweden and Stockholm are Kim Källström and Andreas Isaksson. Both National team starters.
Isaksson is only 20 but he has already played in a big club like Juventus and it is very unusual to see a 20 year old in such a great National tea as the swedish.
Kim is the biggest talent, he has been linked with almost the clubs in the world including Milan, Manchester, Arsenal and Chelsea. It is really strange that he wasn't sold this summer.

I have to disagree. Van dre Sar had a terrible second half of the season and was pointed out as one of the main reasons we lost the title. If we had beaten Roma we'd have 3 points more in the end, and we would most probably be champions. If he had been in such good form and a world class goalkeeper there is no way Juventus ould have spent 50 million € on Buffon. And Van der Sar wasnt exactly brilliant in Fulham either.
But a really classy save I remember from VDS was when he saved a horrid clearance by Birindelli in the CL.

I am surprised nobody mentioned Freddy Addu.
I had a chance to see him for couple of under 17matches for USA, and he has potential to become genuine world beater. He has pace, power, skill, a 14?year old can only dream of. He made other 17year olds look like a fool.
