I would've taken Llorente along to offer something different but at the expense of Villa or Costa (if he really is injured) - not Torres. That boy just works for the NT. Same deal with Bendtner in that regard. Shit for his club but great for his country.

Picking Torres is like how Lippi had a continued fetish with Iaquinta.Del Bosque is actually a bit like Lippi in that regard.
Anyway, fair argument from Alen regarding this Torres call-up.

yesterday Spain played the final half hour with Fabregas as false 9 along with Iniesta and Silva like Euro12 Final, so that's a potential option for Spain if Costa is unfit or Torres expectedly fails to deliver. Koke, Mata, Pedro and Villa can also fit in that false9 formation imo.

I want my revenge against Spain. it's been a while since we beat them in a competition euro 2008, euro
2012, confeds 2013, and now there's a big chance that we meet them in the quarter finals of the World Cup

Euro 2012 was an especially tough loss, still maintain that it could have been a different result if not for those unfortunate injuries.
The first game with a fully fit squad we showed how good we were, we had one less days rest than the Spanish. I knew Spain would lose to Brazil in the Confeds as well because that 1 extra day made a huge difference when Spain had to go to penalties against us.

Chiellini was an idiot for not telling the coach he was not 100% and that started a chain of events. That result will never happen again just the stars alligned for Spain that night.

Also back on topic bringing Torres is just dumb on Del Bosque's part, he has not had any form for about 5 years now and is a liability in a team when played as u can not rely on him to deliver.

Llorente brings something different and is definitely a much more solid pick for Spain.
