One just doesn't think of Spain producing big, powerful CFs.
He's a player who bases him game on physique more than most Spanish player who tend to be mostly about technique.
That should give Llorente, to my mind, a better chance of succeeding with the smaller spaces and tougher marking in Italy.
Fair point, but there was always a great deal of responsibility put on him to produce, exactly because Athetic Club can't just go out and buy someone good.
I've no doubts about Llorente's ability and style.
I don't know enough about his personality to give anything resembling a definitive view on whether he has the mentality to be a success.
I consider him a worthwhile gamble, anyway.
If the deal closes for less than 25m, Juve could still recover a decent chunk of that in a couple of years if things don't work out. His wages are also not likely to be of a level to be overly prohibitive with regards to selling.
I though Van Persie would be a very risky move because I had a feeling he wouldn't succeed and Juve would suddenly be stuck with a 31 year old they paid 25m for and who was on huge wages.
He would have been very difficult to move on if it hadn't worked out and would have involved Juve having to accept a very big loss.

Yeah, good news that we won't splash out on a gamble.
We get it though, they don't wanna sell, you don't have to say that on every other page
and honestly I won't be disappointed if he didn't come, not at all.
