From yesterday's game, I think Giovinco and Vucinic compliment each other well.

Gio - Vuc is definitely a better duo than Matri - Gio/Vuc

Vucinic is inconsistent. When he wants to play he play but sometimes he's just not there. Giovinco needs to find his form - he just returned after two years away from home and he will need time to adjust to these tactics. Comparing Vucinic to Giovinco is therefore a total :sergio: !!

Let Giovinco have his chance(and he'll need to start) and I bet you all we'll see a lethal Giovinco pretty soon. But yes. When Mirko is ready, he's almost unstoppable.. (i'm thinking of his Fiorentina game)

He would be moving from the best club in the world, that is more than a club to juventus which may cease to exist if figc had their way

He would be moving from playing with the best players in history like xavi, iniesta, messi and puyol to playing with marchisio and chiellini lol.

He would be moving from cl contenders to cl underdogs.

He would be moving from a team with an actual coach, to a team with no coach.

He wouldbe moving from awesome barca fans like maher and ian, to psychos like janna and linebreak

History has oroven me right before. Why would I be wrong now.

 Lion's heightened sense of sarcasm is obviously lost on you commoners and peasants. Only the truly regal and noble can understand him :p

Oh, and for those of you who don't want Jovetic, you'll regret it. I'd gladly give away Gio for Jovetic.

Are we just settling on this and trying to make ourselves feel good about this transfer like we've gotten accustomed to? As champions of Italy, if we cant have the best forward in the league, then it's quite sad. I'm willing to agree with those who call him a good value purchase, but those calling him a great striker, would you have chosen him at the start of the season, and felt this way when were being limked to the cream of the crop? I'd like nothing more for Llorente to do fantastically in our colours, but to make him out to be a world beater is just getting our hopes up. He's a compromise compared to what we were made to expect.

No one is settling. This guy wasn't on the lips of people because quite frankly, no one even knew that he was an option until last week. Honestly, for the money that he is valued at (which, by the way, he is still being undervalued at due to his contract expiring next year), this is a make sense purchase. He is exactly what they need.

W said it best. Bilbao simply do not sell their players unless they get a ridiculous offer for them. It's not the way they do things. This situation is unique. A striker in his prime who apparently wants out. To be quite honest with you, I would be much more upset at Juve if they DIDN'T try to capitalize on this situation.

And it's kind of odd that one of your favorite players on this team, one that you defend more than anyone else, was a compromise as well. As big of a compromise, if not bigger, than Llorente. Yet you are convinced that Llorente is a compromise.

Sorry, pal, but I see Llorente as an opportunity

Nah, I didn't reply because it was obvious he wasn't serious.

Are you mocking me peasant? :p

I kinda wish we had left Giovinco @ Parma (in return for securing JoJo), or left him to Fiorentina in return for Jovetic. I just have a sneaky suspicion Jovetic will be awesome/amazing here, whereas Giovinco will do ok (just not as well as some people are expecting/predicting).

You sure about that? Just like RvP, wasn't Llorente into the last year of his contract even before last week when his situation with Bilbao imploded. I don't think the club or any of us had cared to venture this route up until then, but instead had the time to even make enquiries about someone like Lewandowski. If this isn't us settling, then it would've been nice to have been linked to him before his refusal to sign a contract extension made it easier for the buying club whoever that turned out to be.

I've said it time and again, both Quag and Matri came in as a compromise in their respective situations. DiNatale rejected us, Borriello rejected us, and we signed Quag on deadline day. E same thing happened with Matri too in the winter mercato, he came at the death after we couldn't sign a couple of targets. The year after, we went from Aguero to Tevez to Pastore to Higuain to Vucinic. This year, its more of the same. RVP to Suarez to JoJo to Higuain to Dzeko to Llorente.

For the record, I got nothing against Llorente per se, the frustration or questioning this signing perhaps arises from what it represents for us as a football club brand. We cannot get our targets repeatedly. Something has got to be wrong somewhere. We can all stand up and blame the state of aerie a. And say it lacks appeal. But what does the ligue 1 have over a league that has Juventus, Inter, Milan, Napoli and even to a lesser extent Udinese, that they are able to sign Zlatan, Lucas, Thiago Silva, Pastore, etc. The point is, we seem to be settling a bit. And its not a one off. We had the money this season, we had it last season, and yet we couldn't close the deals we were after. For me, it's a question of priorities. At the very least, we should've been able to sign somebody of JoJo's level in a year like this. Please don't tell me about a 30m price tag because the amount of deadwood we've collected, we could build Napoli a new stadium. We are entering a phase where we need to step up from opportunities to making the cut with the big boys. If that means breaking the bank to make a marquee signing, then so be it. In the long run, it's the only way you keep a positive global opinion and have the young starlets want to come play for your club. Its a bit of a vicious cycle so to speak.

If Giovinco returns to the form he had at home before leaving home then he'd better go back to Parma.
