"I really like the Premier League and I've mentioned on more than one occasion that it's a league which appeals to me a lot," Llorente told Sky Sports. "You never know. It's one good option in terms of my future but we'll have to wait until the end of the season to see what happens.

"It is true that we are approaching the date when I can sign for other clubs. I'm trying to keep it so that it is something which is managed by my brother and my representatives. That leaves me to focus on my football and help my team, Athletic, and nothing else, maintain focus."

Reports had claimed Llorente had already agreed a deal to sign for the Serie A leaders Juventus, but he insists that is not the case.

"No. That's totally untrue," Llorente said. "I think it's normal that people talk about these things, but ultimately you have to respect the rules. I am an Athletic player and, until 1 January, I cannot sign with any other team."

Just normal, non-committal noises you'd expect from a player heading towards the end of his contract.

Wouldn't read too much into it.

ahh, got that here to, where its called "bosman ruling"
Separate rulings, aren't they?

Bosman allows a player to leave at the end of his contract, without compensation being paid, where Webster allows the player to leave during his contract, with compensation being paid.

Thanks for the heads up, I wasn't aware of the Webster Ruling.

He has spent 340 minutes on the pitch in La Liga. Resulting in 1 goal.

He has been a part of the starting line up once.
I took a look at minutes in all competitions. The data for Llorente and Matri were both taken from the same source transfermarkt.de

P.S. Llorente is not a star, and I am getting sick and tired of people wanting him at wages stated. He would be at best a marginal step forward in quality and very likely create problem in our wage structure that is essential for Juve to continue to operate at this level.

I've seen him and he is just a big loaf of a player. Giovinco, Vucinic and Quagliarella are all more talented than him. Maybe they are not the same type of players but if we need a finisher and a star finisher at that Llorente isn't it. He fits just one of those criteria, he isn't a star and never will be. To break our wage structure for him would be mad.

Anyway, we should be looking at players a class above. We were very close to Berbatov and in the running for Van Persie this year both of whom are much much better than him. So it's not like we can't close a deal for a class player and it will be easier this year.

Drogba is a beast and cheaper than Llorente. And than I am mad? I am insane, cause I prefer Drogba? Ridiculous.

Thing is, I think most people around here just want to try something new. Eager to see a new face in attack etc. Add that to the youtube videos of him that actually makes him look better than he is, and you have yourself a fapfest.

He's good, though, as I've stated earlier, but we should be careful to make him the best paid player at the club. I will be very upset if we do. And I think some of the players will be, as well. He simply doesn't deserve it. He's not Ibra ffs.

are Pool also interested? am sure they would be.
I'm sure we are, but I don't think we can offer enough to get to the top of his list.

They are completely separate. Bosman allows players to move to another club when their contract runs out. It used to be they had to re-sign with the parent club or be sold on. Before Bosman there was no such thing as the "free agent".

Yeah, you haven't seen him.

Damn, should've read his entire post. He lashed out a bit too hard on Llorente there. I agree that Llorente should be put on sensible wages, but Llorente is definitely better than what Mirko is suggesting here.

Do or die :lol2:

Yeah, he's really on the verge of losing his job right now. It's hanging by a thread.
someone will eventually take the blame for holding us back.
And he is the one who keeps failing to upgrade our front line past Matri, Borriello and Bendtner, someday, we the fans will wake up and the Agnelli will wont to find a scapegoat, better be Marotta than Conte...

Holding us back from what? :boh:

We're the reigning champions, Serie-A leaders by 4 points going into Christmas soon, and through to the last 16 in the Champions League after "knocking out" the current champions of Europe.

What's holding us back is the general state of things in Serie-A. Infrastructure, market position etc. Not Marotta, who's doing a great job under such circumstances.

Holding us back to reach our potential, we obviously lack on smth very VERY much to compete at the highest level and thats a prolific finisher, if there was any doubt after this summer, it isnt after the latest derbies,
everybody can see this now, even the ones who were not...having the eyes, to spot it before.

It is openl discussed by players, coaches, fans and sport journalists, that this is our greatest weakness, ppl are weaking up!
We have players who can do greater things, a coach who can lead us very far, the only thing we lack is the finisher to score the large ammount of scoring chances we create,
we dominate the games, control them and we justfail to deliver there.
All we need is a 30-40mil finisher, merely the sum we have commited on Isla and Asamoah.

So, there is only one man not delivering where it counts the most and thats the ones who keeps bringning the Matris, Boriellos and Bendtners, that was a forth consecutive transfer window, he has failed to bring a forward of our class and this is going to be the fifth, Juventus fans cant be fooled forever, sometime they will wake up, hopefully they already and and expecting to see that we lost the summer transfer widow, because Marotta already secured Llorente for the winter transfer window and just avoided to pay the premium price.
