"He won't play for another spanish club due to his Basque origins..."

Can someone explain to me this Basque shit?
Just a region, like Catalonia, who would like to be independent of Spain (both make it out to be about principles and culture, but they are just wealthy areas that feel they subsidise the rest of Spain, as far as I can tell).

It's a shit argument for why he won't play for another Spanish team.

There are absolutely no people would believe Northern Ireland should be independent of the UK who live or work in Scotland or England, you see.

i thought you would know, it is meant to go to a referendum first whether the public want it, there were stories as to how the scottish could now sell us their water, but i guess the flip side of it is that they wont be able to afford the free university education that they've boasted about. Personally it means none of this day light saving crap and having to walk home in pitch black at 4/5pm

While financial reasons may indeed be true for Catalonia, Basques are another thing. Their nation is the last remains of the original European people that were wiped out by indo-european nations. Basques have nothing in common with the rest of Spain (or Europe) other than being conquered by them so long ago.
