how do their shareholders react to that nonsense? anyway its a ploy.
Athletico Bilbao is no stock corporation, but a club, which belongs to all members. By rejecting an offer the club shows, that it does not want to sell a player, but that it's the player who wants to leave.

They're looking at versatile forwards actually..someone who can play on the wing as well as a support striker.Willian and Remy seem to be their main targets as of now.

indeed, stockholders would never allow it to continue with its Basque-only policy.

Lets be honest, Llorente was never going to be a worldclass striker who scores 20 goals in the league. If it happens it's cool, if not I'm fine with it too.

Come on, he's a good player and all but it would take him time to settle in to a new league with tighter marking. He would grab his goals and be important. I'm sure of it that he's a good player, just dont think he'll be world class. We're talking about a player who has achieved very little outside of the EL and domestic league.

The thing is we can't get Llorente for a reasonable price and we can't go further with Giostinko and Matri either.

This is personally nonsense to me lol.I've said this before..There are absolutely crap defenders right now in Serie A ,you're delusional not to accept that fact and like i said before Llorente is not that kind of player who thrives in space only.Conventional #9 with very good technique and who would score a lot of goals with the right service..I believe he is tailor made for our system. And also i forgot to add Conte's tactics are pretty similar to Bielsa's tactics as well, even he uses 3-5-2 time to time but tinkers a lot with his formations though. Also this guy is a hard worker ,one more plus point in him.

The only thing he's going to be working hard on the next 6 months, is his posture. While sitting on the bench. Pretty sure he ain't coming if Urrutia has his way. We were supposed to hear back from Bilbao last evening, zparatici apparently flew there too. Seems to me like its fallen through.

Ibra is finding it harder in the Ligue 1 than Serie A :shifty:

Most strikers need time to adjust to a new league

I think signing players early in the summer is the way to go. The player can get some understanding about his role and with his teammates. Understand the tactics too. their fitness will be on level with the rest of the squad.

I was under the assumption that Ibra would just come through and rape a league with "lesser defenders"
Not sure what you're on about. He was absolutely brilliant in his last game.
And how many points do they have?
