They'd rather use him for one season, than getting 18mil on him.

They don't need the money anyway.
Of course, hence why they've dropped him for the past few games, and if they don't call him at weekend, he's gone.

They do need the money as no club can afford to turn 20 million down when he'll leave for free next Summer.

If someone offered Athletic 25m (or even a deal that was likely to reach 25m) a deal would be done very quickly.

Shouting about 36m is just pointless posturing.

And I'm not necessarily saying that he should pay that for Llorente.

Just pointing out that people shouldn't be taking the comments from the Athletic president too seriously.

There is absolutely no way Bilbao will keep Llorente for this season, and give him away for free the next. No club can afford to do that. Secco wouldn't even be that dumb.

Bilbao management is just waiting until the final hour for someone else to bid on Llorente or else he'll go to Juventus.

People thought the same thing about RVP and Arsenal, but in the end, money talks.

A part of me wants us to pull out of this deal and make Llorente go on a free next summer. Get jo-jo now and Fuuck up that club president of basque inbreds.
