The question begs to be asked:

WTF did we buy Giannichedda for?
Giannichedda was the best Lazio player last season.
I trust him more over Blasi, Appiah and Tacchinardi.
Plus Giannichedda hungers for a trophy.:D

exactly, basically we get both vieria n giannichedda in the expenses of appiah and marseca
Proves only more that Capello is thinking short term, and not long term.

what did juve miss last season

- a world class CM next to emerson
- a deeper bench

so far it is those needs that we are fullfilling
Yes. Gianachedda IMO was a great signing. Also if we happen to loan Blasi to Lazio, then we get Cesar, who IMO is a good bencher.

Thats exactly what we are all thinking :D 3 stars and a pair of CL tittles

Its no secret that Capello is building a team to challange Erope immediately, not prepare a team for 3-4 years.

Well, its different from our usual strategy, that usually takes a little more time getting into effect. And by the time those players mature, theyre already sick of the serie a winning cycle, and for some reason just dont cut it on the European stage, which to me needs just the right blend of enthusiasm and experience to crack it.

Camoranesi, Zlatan, Trezeguet, Maseillo, Mutu and Buffon are seemingly the youth quotient of the squad. And definitely talented enough to gel with the more experienced likes of Thuram, Canna, Nedved, Emerson, Vieira and maybe Del Piero.

At the moment Ibrahimovic is our only starting player under 25. Vieira is a great player and a good signing, but age will be a really big problem in the near future.

I think he means our superstars: Cannavaro, Thuram, Nedved, Del Piero and to some extent Emerson and Vieira dont have too much time left at the top level. The case of the latter two, is not as much cause for concern, however the first four definitely need some understudies being drafted in as and when possible.

Yes, but the problem lies in selling them not in what can they give. I am sure there is a couple of years left in them, well maybe not all those who are in your list. If you know what I mean ;)

Which is why, i think we could start by cashing in on Del Piero. He's going to be surplus to our needs and it wouldnt be nice to see him sit on the bench, and finish his career when he can still get some playing time. Id love to see him make the world cup.

Also, lets not forget, our core group of youngsters will also see their values sky rocket, and we could sell them when they become a older. So I can see a balance could be drawn there.

Fener-Appiah: Just A Couple More Days...
7/18/2005 1:33:00 PM
Italian daily 'Il Corriere dello Sport' is reporting that Turkish champs Fenerbahce are very close to the signature of Juventus midfielder Appiah, even though two Premiership clubs are also after his services.
It appears the Bianconeri accepted Fener’s ‘final offer’ of 8 million Euros, but its is now up to the Ghana international to decide whether to agree to a move to Turkey's Super-League.

Appiah is expected to make his decision later this week, as he is also scanning two other offers coming from Premiership sides Middlesbrough and Birmingham.
