See, this whole "that's enough" type of deal, well yeah there are enough bodies - but nowhere near enough quality.

LB - I said it's up in the air, because it's Ziegler and DC. I'm OK with starting the season like this, but one is a new player (who's far from 'great') and the other has never been consistent and is coming off a pretty tough injury (although he had a good, little stretch before the injury). I'm not sure what to expect here.

CB - I don't rate Barzagli, Grygera needs to GTFO of Juventus ASAP, and Sorenson has never played CB at this level. The kid is 19 - he could still go either way; we've all seen it before. I like Boner, even if he was shaky at times; I think he'll improve, although I'm not sure we're going to ever see a truly complimentary pairing with Chiello. Georgio is world class, he ties it all together. He goes down for an extended period, we're in BIG trouble.

RB - Lich is my favorite purchase of the mercato. Buying a good RB was long, long overdue. Motta needs to GTFO ASAP, just like Grygera - they're both brutal. BRUTAL. I'm not all that comfortable with Sorenson as the backup, but I do rate the kid, and think he's going to be a good player. I want to see him get playing time, but I don't think that's going to happen at Juventus this season.

If we're going to play a 4-2-4 we damn well better have some strong, combative, mobile players to help stem the tide. Pazienza, Pirlo, Marchisio... those guys just don't have the physicality required. We need to keep Melo... at least have one player with some serious muscle.

The point is that our resources should be used to make sure we've got quality at these crucial positions. We don't need Rossi or Aguero right now; if we were going to buy one of them, then we shouldn't have bought both Matri and Q.

Oh, and I would be cool with Bastos for 13. I'm not a Vucinic fan, really. I find him too inconsistent, and think that the money would be better spent on a true LM.

Grygera was our worst defender in 07/08 (well, the argument between he and Moli is a fair one), and the guy is still here. It kills me.

There isn't enough muscle there, Rus. I'll give Pazienza a chance, because I give all of our players a chance, but from what I've seen (which isn't a ton, but I know the guy) I really don't think he's what we need.

It's in installments of course, but IMO it was all calculated on last years budget, the loans were just a formality. We might eventually need to add a striker, but the fact of the matter is that we've barely patched a defense that has been amongst the leagues worst the past two seasons, and so far we've patched our midfield with Bosmans.

Meanwhile, we've already bought two strikers this summer - Matri, and Qtube.

We're going to try and play 4-4-2, and we still don't have a single, natural LM on this team! We have no depth at RB. Depth at CB is VERY sketchy - if Chiello goes down, we're sunk. LB is up in the air.

Way too many positions where we lack quality to sink all of our money into forwards.

Alright, well regardless of how exactly that money is accounted for (whether money was set aside for Matri, considering he was a very late loan/buy), we have recently committed to spend 34M euro (deduct half of ariaudo or whatever) on forwards in the past year. And we've taken on Toni. Plus, Martinez is really a forward who is being asked to play wide - so it's almost more like the team has committed to spend 46M on forwards in the past year. Anyway, I'm being an idiot.

Nobody here knows exactly how much cash we've allotted for this mercato, we're also paying installments on players purchased in previous windows, etc. It's all murky.

Obviously my point is that considering the defense still needs an injection of quality, and we don't even have the proper personnel to field the coaches preferred tactical system (Not that we had that last year either... nor is our midfield depth particularly good) do we really need to spend another 30M (or more) on a striker? Then hand out a huge salary on top of that?

We need to create more balance in the team; adding quality, complimentary parts will make the players we already have that much better. We need to stop adding the same pieces.

Agreed and from what we can guess on the money we have I think Bastos and Vidal would be perfect players because of their versatility. As some one stated previously in Chiles game yesterday Vidal played 3 position and played all of them well. And we all know Bastos can play all along the left so these two players I believe will be vital to have in our squad. In terms of quality and their ability to cover positions we need if needed.

As for that last sentence, I can't really make out your point due to poor grammar, but he said the club aren't respecting him cos they seem to be making deals for his transfer without his knowledge. Either way, I don't give it too much importance, that or him praising Mourinho or Conte or Villas Boas. It's all trivial when compared to showing improvement and a desire to stay and win with the club.
