but now 7 number is ours 
Felipe Melo was our best CM last year - anyone who says differently, well, I initially wrote something pretty insulting here and then though better of it... but c'mon - the debate isn't even close. He had one egregious afternoon against Parma, but start to finish, he was the most consistent player on our entire team. Who was more consistent than Melo, that was playing for the entire year (which means Matri and Q are out of the equation)?
All of this round about logic where people try to convince themselves that getting rid of Melo makes sense, especially given the fact that his transfer fee is probably going to be low (this is Marotta we're talking about) well it's getting ridiculous.
We have a ton of holes in the lineup already, we need to add quality not remove it. There is definitely space for both Melo and Vidal in this team. I still have no idea how our leadership expects Pirlo to recapture his past form in a system that he's not suited for - plus, he's no spring chicken. Our midfield is going to get run right the fuck over, and our defense hasn't been strengthened nearly enough. We should be playing 4-3-3, with Melo, Pirlo, and Vidal.
Fuck Rossi, Fuck Aguero. Spend that money on the areas in which we're weakest. Make sure we have a balanced team, so everyone can focus on their own fucking responsibilities, and not have to constantly worry about covering our weak spots.

We might eventually need to add a striker, but the fact of the matter is that we've barely patched a defense that has been amongst the leagues worst the past two seasons, and so far we've patched our midfield with Bosmans.
Meanwhile, we've already bought two strikers this summer - Matri, and Qtube.
We're going to try and play 4-4-2, and we still don't have a single, natural LM on this team! We have no depth at RB. Depth at CB is VERY sketchy - if Chiello goes down, we're sunk. LB is up in the air.

LB - De Ceglie, Ziegler + Chiellini can cover this zone if both first will be injured
CB - Bonucci, Chiellini, Barzagli, Grygera, Sorensen - that's enough imo
RB - Motta, Lichsteiner, Grygera - weakest line because if Stephan will be injured we are in shit
And one of the reasons why we should sign Bastos instead of Vucinic it's because he can play anywhere on left wing, i think Ziegler can cover RB position too, at least he is doin' this pefrect in manager games

I don't think 4 centre midfielders are enough. Pirlo, Melo, Vidal, Marchisio & Pazienza would be enough. Selling Melo would be a step backwards, we need to add quality and have depth, not replace a quality player with another.
And I also agree with what you say about Bastos. The main advantage of having him is that he can play anywhere on the left side. He would give good quality depth to the squad and could even start at LB over Ziegler.
Ivanovic, Vidal, Bastos & Rossi or Aguero would be perfect.
